Lisa (lisadannatt) I truly enjoy Hemingway's style. He paints a savage and distressing backdrop vividly yet with detachment, in the way I would describe a cup of tea. It gives a sense of horror yet emotional distance, which his main character would need to survive. I like Pilar more and more. Maria, is so sad and so lost, desperately trying to be strong for Robert, For Pilar and for the cause, yet she has a beautiful fragility about her.

I totally agree with your comments, Lisa. Hemingway is so much more...... then many people give him credit for....
