2013 GR Choice Awards Under Representing Romance

Romance genre sales are 60% of the fiction readership market, yet gets one genre with the MA and YA as the only subgenre's! Please speak up to GR and make yourself heard!

GR is pre-selecting the book nominations and categories based solely on the rank and number of ratings per book. "Best Seller Book ", i.e. "most active teen book" or "most active erotica" for the month in some cases, or even for 10 month period, does not automatically translate into representing their readers' "Favorite Book" of the year - in any genre.
If this trend continues I believe GR will become a NA / Adult and Self Pub / erotica ghetto for the Romance genre.
Romance Fiction accounts for 60% of book sales yet it is vastly under represented with one small category : Romance (and within that YA and NA.)
I invite you to add your feedback and to speak up to GR as well.

I was prompted to speak up when a well known Historical Romance author asked her fans why we thought Historical Romance was not represented in the awards.
At a minimum, I think we need a contemporary and a historical fiction romance categories. An Adult erotic category would be very helpful as well (R+).
In addition, the choices in these categories need chosen / nominated by readers VS GR just using raw counts of rating stars and readership. Some readers give 4 to 5 stars to almost all books while others are very sparing with their 4 and 5's and think 3's are good.
Using one sampling method only is bound to be skewed. Asking the readers their favorites as nominations before posting the final selection and taking votes would make sense.
In addition, there is a debut author award but not for any specific genre? A debut author for each subgenre, including romance subgenres, would make more sense to me.
Thank you for reading my post and any support or feedback you are willing to provide to GR.
