Rebecca (rebeccasg) I may be a little slow, as there are many non-classics I want to read, but I am trying to add some classics in there as well!

Rebecca (rebeccasg) 1. Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy - took forever and some of the language was hard, but a good book. I could have done without the rants on farming and such.
2. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens - Amazing! I read it every year. Short and sweet.
3. The Hobbit (Middle-Earth Universe) by J.R.R. Tolkien - Quick and fun read. Nothing like the movie. A Great adventure
4. The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne - This is one I pretended to read in high school. This time I actually read it and was surprised by how short it was and how dramatic. Glad I revisited it.
5. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - Really liked it! Glad I finally read this book as people have raved about it!
6. Persuasion by Jane Austen - I did enjoy this and Anne as a character. Not as much as P&P though.
7. Richard III by William Shakespeare - This was looooong but it was interesting and different style that the classic novel.
8. The Complete Adventures and Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes A Facsimile of the Original Strand Magazine Stories, 1891-1893 by Arthur Conan Doyle - I love Sherlock! This was a fun collection of interesting mysteries.
9. A Study in Scarlet (Sherlock Holmes, #1) by Arthur Conan Doyle - The 1st Sherlock mystery. Really good!
10. Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë - Loved it, even though I didn't like any of the characters!
11. Bleak House by Charles Dickens - It was okay. WAY WAY too long with too many characters.
12. The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck - This was a decent book, but very bleak and drags a long a bit by the end. Interesting characters.
13. Far from the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy - Bathsheba was a silly, but likable character. Periods of drama and periods of boring description. I feel very in-between about this book.
14. Villette by Charlotte Brontë . This one took a little to get into, but then I enjoyed it. Poor Lucy has a dark life and suffers from depression. That mood is reflected in the story.

Rebecca (rebeccasg) Me too! And I really enjoy almost all movie creations of The Christmas Carol.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I'm planning to read The Christmas Carol this year. Saw it on my bookshelf staring at me the other day. A short book, true, but I have't read it yet.

Rebecca (rebeccasg) I have read more classics so far this year than I have in many years combined in the past!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Sounds like you're on a good roll then :) I need to dig into more
