Am I the only one noticing selective appearances of comments on the update feed?

Tonight I posted a comment on a review of mine that's recently come in for attack by the author (review is here). When I navigated back to my profile I saw that my comment hadn't been added to my update feed--even though my default when using the full comment view is to add comments, and even though the comment I'd written right before that on another review (nothing to do with author drama or censorship) did appear. This has happened twice now: both times I've posted since the author commented.

Shortly after that, I commented on a quote dealing with author drama. I specifically clicked the "add to my update feed" box. My comment was not added.

Has anyone else noticed this? This has me closer to leaving than anything else that's happened thus far. I was about to go on a reviewing binge, but I'm just not sure I can post reviews on Goodreads while they're apparently hiding my comments on topics they don't like.

I would post this in Feedback, see if it is affecting other people.

My 'likes' emails have stopped (yes, I posted in Feedback) but I haven't noticed any other difference in the account.

Emma - I clicked on your review link (Giving Tree?) but when I went to that page it didn't show any comments (or review) at all. Is the link correct?

Thanks Jennifer! I am having a really bad evening on Goodreads. Fixed now.

It hadn't occurred to me to speculate in management's space about whether they're censoring me, but they should see the sort of suspicion their policies are breeding. Off to make noise!

@Emma, I see your poptart-worm comment on Stacia's quote. The link to Vicki's review of the giving tree, I not only don't see your comment but I don't see her review.

Yep, fixed to link to the review. My comments are showing up on the review and the quote--what struck me as odd is that they aren't propagating to my feed (and thus aren't brought to the attention of my friends and followers), even though the "add to feed" box was checked. It makes me wonder if the most recent Goodreads tactic is to not to actually delete reviews/comments, but just make it harder for people to realize discussions related to "author behavior" are happening at all.

There has been a bug for some people that things are not showing up in their outgoing feed. I suspect that's what is going on with yours, rather than censorship.

I wonder if it could also be that your review has been flagged or hidden, and therefore the comments are also hidden?

It could have been flagged, but people not my friends are still voting and commenting, so I don't think it's hidden. I thought with the new policy they weren't hiding things anymore?

It's the top review for me. I don't think it's been hidden.

I didn't think they hid reviews anymore either.

But they've been so flaky at enforcing new policies and so busy blaming booklikes for data migration issues moving from goodreads to amazon cloudfront servers and working on the kindle fire integrstion that maybe it slipped thru the cracks and got hidden.

I have a hidden review. It was never deleted. It wasn't about an author so maybe that's why, although I am on the stgrb list for it. Apparently it is bullying to call an author out for spamming people for over two years. I did it nicely though :-) The book is Almaty Transit and the link is on my profile if you are interested. It isn't that interesting though.
