What books have you read that are so overhyped? Everyone says "Oh my gosh, it's amazing! Read it!" You read it and say "That wasn't as great as everyone said it would be."

What overhyped books have you read?

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

THG, TMI, Uglies, Matched, Delirium, Legend

message 3: by Abigail (new)

Abigail | 413 comments Legend

message 4: by Abigail (new)

Abigail | 413 comments I liked legend a lot, but it wasn't that amazing.

And matched, that's wasn't good at all

Wither, ALLEGIANT

message 7: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hannahroboto) | 92 comments Vain by Fisher Amelie, not necessarily over-hyped but it has tons of 5 star reviews on goodreads and quite frankly it was a pretty bad book. I was so disappointed. I also didn't like the Uglies series much.

I felt like I was loosing brain cells while reading Uglies. Bubbly this, bubbly that, scary-making, Shay-la, Skinny-wa, shut up ya?

message 11: by Abigail (new)

Abigail | 413 comments The last 2 books of the beautiful creatures series

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

City of Bones. It wasn't terrible, I was just expecting more from everyone's reviews.

message 13: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat335) | 84 comments Eh, I greatly disliked Beautiful Creatures.

message 14: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina (forebodinq) I liked most of Beautiful Creatures, but I didn't like it's ending. And I really disliked Beautiful Darkness.
I also thought Delirium was a little overhyped.

message 15: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat335) | 84 comments I haven't read Delirium yet. I heard a lot of mixed opinions about it so far.

message 16: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat335) | 84 comments @ Nobody: I have to agree with you on how the book was rushed.

message 17: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina (forebodinq) Well I still liked Delirium, just not as much as I was expecting :) And I really loved the second book from the series. The only thing I hated about the last book, Requiem, was the ending. I felt like I didn't get any closure.

message 18: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina (forebodinq) I haven't read Uglies yet so idk :\

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't think Delirium and Uglies are similar

message 20: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat335) | 84 comments I feel like I'm the only one who likes Uglies XD Even my teacher gave me a rant on how bad Uglies is

message 21: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina (forebodinq) ~Nobody~♫ I Walk a Lonely Road♫~ wrote: "Breaking Dawn.
I read it in fifth grade.
It was borrring.
Alright bella and edward have sex on their honeymoon and oh! Surprise surprise they're going to have a vampire baby. Okay....then a bunch o..."

I liked the wrestling scene with Emmett too :P They didn't fight the Volturi though - that's what bothered me. They led up to a massive showdown, but in reality, nothing happened. I liked how the movie changed it up a bit.

message 22: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat335) | 84 comments Ugh, I hated Breaking Dawn

message 23: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina (forebodinq) I seriously thought Uglies was going to be really good! - Guess that proves that it is overhyped aha! I always get my books from the library before buying them - that way I don't spend money on something I don't like.

message 24: by Cat (last edited Nov 13, 2013 08:47PM) (new)

Cat (cat335) | 84 comments Idk I read it like 4 years ago when I never really read that much. So maybe I would change my mind if I read it again.

message 25: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina (forebodinq) Haha oh really? Yeah they do! But it's not what you expect - I got such a shock! Ooooh I see :) I'm pretty sure she gets turned into a vampire by Edward, not her baby :P
I only got into Twilight because..*drum roll*..my parents are obsessed with it lol

message 26: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina (forebodinq) Aha yes really. It's so weird.. I really liked the books to begin with. But that was before I found YA really. Then I changed my mind on what makes a book good.

message 27: by Erica (new)

Erica (ericaevernight) clockwork angel...for me...I found out some horrific stuff...I spoiled myself..

message 28: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa Thomas (alyssathelibrarian) Divergent is the first series that comes to mind. I have only read the first book so far and although I liked it, I wasn't obsessed and I really don't get the fascination with the series at all.

message 29: by Bridget (new)

Bridget | 91 comments Matched. Ugh, I just wanted to stop reading, but people were waiting for me to finish since I have a LOT of opinions on books. I just wanted to throw the book across the room. It was just so boring.

message 30: by Abby (new)

Abby | 69 comments TMI I know everybody loves it but I can't get past City of Ashes. It's so boring.

message 31: by Chantae (new)

Chantae B. I'm still stuck on city of glass it's a good series but its not that great because it can't hold my attention

message 32: by Abby (new)

Abby | 69 comments The first book kept my attention and I read it really quickly but the second book is a struggle.

message 33: by julia (new)

julia (julianevergrowup) The Heroes of Olympus series... I love Percy Jackson and the Olympians but the spin-off is awful.

message 34: by Angela (new)

Angela Hunger games definitely... I have NO idea what is soooo good about it...it seems so dull and there's just so many other better books

message 35: by Diana (new)

That's what I've heard...

message 38: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahlittlecornerforbooks) Beautiful Creatures, it was so slow. I just couldn't get into it. The movie was bad too. Accents were so fake

message 39: by Caru (new)

Caru Harry Potter

message 40: by Abigail (new)

Abigail | 413 comments Matched, and beautiful creatures are the top two for me.

message 41: by Rachel , The Attentive One (new)

message 46: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1) by E.L. James hahaha!

message 48: by Erin (new)

Erin Vastag How can you all think Divergent was over hyped?

message 49: by Abigail (new)

Abigail | 413 comments Divergent is amazing

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

Angelfall seemed pretty overrated to me.
