What books have you read that are so overhyped? Everyone says "Oh my gosh, it's amazing! Read it!" You read it and say "That wasn't as great as everyone said it would be."

What overhyped books have you read?

I liked legend a lot, but it wasn't that amazing.

And matched, that's wasn't good at all

Wither, ALLEGIANT

Vain by Fisher Amelie, not necessarily over-hyped but it has tons of 5 star reviews on goodreads and quite frankly it was a pretty bad book. I was so disappointed. I also didn't like the Uglies series much.

Delirium, Uglies

Wither too!!

I felt like I was loosing brain cells while reading Uglies. Bubbly this, bubbly that, scary-making, Shay-la, Skinny-wa, shut up ya?

The last 2 books of the beautiful creatures series

City of Bones. It wasn't terrible, I was just expecting more from everyone's reviews.

Eh, I greatly disliked Beautiful Creatures.

I liked most of Beautiful Creatures, but I didn't like it's ending. And I really disliked Beautiful Darkness.
I also thought Delirium was a little overhyped.

I haven't read Delirium yet. I heard a lot of mixed opinions about it so far.

Well I still liked Delirium, just not as much as I was expecting :) And I really loved the second book from the series. The only thing I hated about the last book, Requiem, was the ending. I felt like I didn't get any closure.

I haven't read Uglies yet so idk :\

I don't think Delirium and Uglies are similar

I feel like I'm the only one who likes Uglies XD Even my teacher gave me a rant on how bad Uglies is

I liked the wrestling scene with Emmett too :P They didn't fight the Volturi though - that's what bothered me. They led up to a massive showdown, but in reality, nothing happened. I liked how the movie changed it up a bit.

Ugh, I hated Breaking Dawn

I seriously thought Uglies was going to be really good! - Guess that proves that it is overhyped aha! I always get my books from the library before buying them - that way I don't spend money on something I don't like.

Idk I read it like 4 years ago when I never really read that much. So maybe I would change my mind if I read it again.

Haha oh really? Yeah they do! But it's not what you expect - I got such a shock! Ooooh I see :) I'm pretty sure she gets turned into a vampire by Edward, not her baby :P
I only got into Twilight because..*drum roll*..my parents are obsessed with it lol

Aha yes really. It's so weird.. I really liked the books to begin with. But that was before I found YA really. Then I changed my mind on what makes a book good.

clockwork angel...for me...I found out some horrific stuff...I spoiled myself..

Divergent is the first series that comes to mind. I have only read the first book so far and although I liked it, I wasn't obsessed and I really don't get the fascination with the series at all.

Matched. Ugh, I just wanted to stop reading, but people were waiting for me to finish since I have a LOT of opinions on books. I just wanted to throw the book across the room. It was just so boring.

TMI I know everybody loves it but I can't get past City of Ashes. It's so boring.

I'm still stuck on city of glass it's a good series but its not that great because it can't hold my attention

The first book kept my attention and I read it really quickly but the second book is a struggle.

The Heroes of Olympus series... I love Percy Jackson and the Olympians but the spin-off is awful.

Hunger games definitely... I have NO idea what is soooo good about it...it seems so dull and there's just so many other better books

Beautiful Creatures, it was so slow. I just couldn't get into it. The movie was bad too. Accents were so fake

Matched, and beautiful creatures are the top two for me.
