I've been a longtime romance reader and Lisa Kleypas is quite possibly my favorite Romance writer out there. I've found myself quite often frustrated by the criticism associated with reading romance novels by people who don't read at all. As a result I've decided to act against those stereotypes and generalizations. So I've started a campaign called, "It's OK to have a Heart or the Romantic Movement Against Genre A**holes." I'm on a mission to collect as many definitions of the Romance Novel genre in order to define and defend Romance against all the malign and criticism that is so often imposed upon it in a visual and artistic way. I am personally collaging posters using romance novel imagery tailored to each definition. I would love to have members submit their definition of romance here: http://itsoktohaveaheart.com/submissions
I've already collected a few definitions from some readers and authors (Eloisa James, Virginia Henley, and Mary Jo Putney.) But I'd love to hear from more!
