Not so much lately, but when I was working downtown I got to the point where I didn't even have to look up from the book to know the rapid had reached my stop...
I regularly get so involved in a book that I forget reality. But then, reality & I aren't on very good terms anyway.

He made me think back to when I was in high school, and how I would read while walking home....come to think of it I read between classes, while walking in the hall, not on the stairs of course...
It made me wonder, am I the only one of us who did or still does that? Do you get so wrapped up in a book that you just simply don't put it down to do other things, like get something to drink or eat? I was that way with Harry Potter 5-7. I didn't start Harry until book 3 came out, and was hoooked right away. I got book 4 the day it came out, but I had to go to work the next day, so I had to finish it the next day. 5-7 I read in one day, and I walked around with them, ate one handed, and refused to answer the phone....
Am I the only one who gets this way with a book, or do others do this too? It doesn't have to be a new book,it can be an old friend that I just get immersed in and forget things, like eating....
What have you all done, or forgotten while reading?
Have you ever gotten so involved in a book that you forget reality? Being jarred back into it by a ringing phone or pet?
What do you think?
