15.9 - First or Last?
December is both the first month of winter and the last month of the year. Read a book that is either the first book in a series or the last (or latest) published book in a series.

Natalie | 151 comments I'd like to read Bring Up the Bodies by
Hilary Mantel for this one. It's the second book of a trilogy, part three is to be published ca. 2015.

You're good to go with this, since #2 is the most recently published. I am eagerly awaiting #3!

Andy Plonka (plonkaac) | 4207 comments At present this appears to be the last of the series, Though it is labeled as "The Shetland Quartet" this is # 5Dead Water. I'm hoping she doesn't have a #6 in the works.

Doesn't look as if #6 is even mentioned at this point.

yes, since it's marked as #1 in a series - I guess it's also the latest, LOL!

Sorry, but complete books have to be read to satisfy a task, not just part of a book (even if the publisher decided to split up the book for publishing purposes in some markets).

Karen Michele Burns (klibrary) | 2062 comments Does a .5 book count as the first in the series?:

Once Upon a Time in the North by Philip Pullman

SamZ (samwisezbrown) I'd like to read As You Are by Sara Eden. It's listed as #3 in a 4 book series on Goodreads. However, her books have been out of print for several years and are slowly being re-printed by a new publisher. Book 3 is the most recent one published and, therefore, available. Does this work?

sorry, no. It needs to be #1 or the last in a series.
