Upon reading about this new book, I contacted Maya Ackerman about her interview with her grandfather, in order to compare notes with her as a Holocaust survivor. She replied in friendly fashion and asked me a number of questions, to which I gave her a detailed reply yesterday.

So sad to hear that Srulik Ackerman died four days ago. The point I always make is that we Holocaust survivors are a dying breed: within a couple of decades we will be extinct.
