Hunger Games Trilogy discussion

Hi. Let me start by saying that I am not at all normally a conspiracy theory person about anything, but I have a way out there one about The Hunger Games. I think Suzanne Collins could see the future and The Hunger Games will actually be real in the 2100's. I read it one time on a web page with six Hunger Games conspiracy theories, but I can't find the web page anymore. Someone said that Suzanne Collins is actually Madge Undersee and she traveled back to this time period to tell the story in Katniss' point of view to try to stop the Hunger Games from ever occurring, or something like that. I don't know about that specifically, but I do know that I've had this funny feeling that the whole thing is going to be real even before I came across that web page.

There are two characters who I am CONVINCED are direct descendants of two people I know. I am convinced that Katniss Everdeen is the great-great-great-great-great-granddaughter of a friend of mine! This gal is an absolute masterful hunter, especially with a bow & arrow!! And I'm not just talking about those crossbows that are sold at Cabela's or Dick's Sporting Goods. This girl is a master hunter with regular (old-fashioned) bows and arrows as well! And, just like Katniss, she has such phenomenal aim that she almost always shoots the animal right through the eye!! Like Katniss, she is tough yet has a vulnerable side to her. She has loved climbing trees since childhood and can climb trees exceptionally well. This woman can be sarcastic like Katniss can be. She fiercely loves and cares deeply about her loved ones and would do anything to protect them. She is very brave and she works in law enforcement. She has the total District 12 coloring too (the olive skin, the dark hair)...and Katniss definitely kind of looks like her and even the picture of Katniss' father in the first movie looks like her! She even sort of talks like her. I had a dream back in the summer of 2012 that I was talking to Katniss and she asked me how I know her g-g-g-g-g-grandmother, and proceeded to tell me -- and I'll never forget it -- "She's the one who took us to District 12." (By "us" I knew she was referring to her family albeit a few generations before hers). And she said it very reverently. She also had a scrapbook with old pictures of my friend. It was so real!!!!

The other character is Finnick Odair. I am actually convinced that Finnick is the great-great-great-great-grandson of one of my guy friends!! Same looks, same personality, same complexity! He is tall with naturally fair skin but it bronzes (tans) extremely easily, and he has strawberry blond hair and eyes that are definitely the color of the sea (although his are a piercing blue and Finnick's are a sea-blue/green). This fellow comes across as preening, proud, and flirtatious (he knows the effect he has on women)...yet he is soooo much deeper than that! He is very direct & says what he means and he is a really good leader. He's compassionate and cares deeply. He is very protective of those he loves, just like Finnick was with Annie and particularly with Mags. He's Irish-American and Finnick is clearly of Irish origin (it can't be denied with that name). He is honorable and noble including professionally (he works in law enforcement). Has great combat skills. Even the excellent swimming is there as well as -- you're not going to believe this -- one of the great loves of his life before he married his wife is an Italian-American woman with long dark hair, just like Annie Cresta (Cresta is clearly a name of Italian origin)!! But he left her; he broke their engagement. And here's the kicker: it's the same gal I mentioned above (the one I believe is Katniss' five-greats grandmother)! Think of the early interactions between Katniss and Finnick, and even Katniss' initial reactions to him. It makes total sense that there's a subconscious ancestral conflict between the two of them (at least at first)!!

So that's my main conspiracy theory about The Hunger Games trilogy and I know it's kind of out there. Lol! Please don't think I'm crazy. The similarities are uncanny all the way around!! I swear those are the only two people out of all the possible people I know or have heard of from whom Katniss and Finnick could have descended. But I mainly just think it's fun to think that. Can't really explain.

Do you have any Hunger Games conspiracy theories? (Either out there like mine lol or more just about characters, plot, theme, or setting in the books)?? For example, anything like "Maysilee Donner is still alive" or "Foxface committed suicide"? Please share! This is the only place I could get mine out (lol) and I would really love to hear yours!!

Gale is dead.
So when they tell Katniss he went to two he's actually dead and they don't want to tell her. Think about it, if he died she would break down, right? Plus he's captured and we never find out how he escapes. So makes perfect sense, plus that's why his character never really gets closed off.

Also I think hat the whole fox face committed suicide thing is so stupid. She was obviously clever enough to have maybe won, so why would she think that her chances were so slim that she didn't even want to try?

Yeah I don't really believe that. I know that they wouldn't want to tell katniss if he died but they would also know that she'd would want to grieve the loss of her best friend, so they would have told he if gale died.

Im convinced Cinna never died because they never 100% confirmed it, they just said ''we believe he died during interrogation'' we BELIEVE. I dont know im just sure he's out there somewhere waiting for his big return.

I would love to think Cinna is alive still. Yet I find it hard to believe because I feel like he would have reached out to them or somehow tried to contact them. But there's always that seed of doubt that allows for it ;)
I don't like how Cinna's death was pulled off like that. I actually wanted confirmation and that was the only comment and then everything went on fine. I felt like he deserved more recognition.

So I am reading the trilogy again, since last time I stopped on the second, and paying attention more closely it called my attention so many details this time. Please correct me if I am wrong, this novels looks to me as a dystopian type. It reminds me to Margaret Atwood type of story, sort of futuristic based on real things that happened recently or we are living now. 1. Each district has their personality production, District 12 Miners, another district was the agriculture, etc. On one part of the first book, Katniss asks if the agriculture district get to keep more food since they produce it which it doesnt, it is all shipped to other places. This reminded me to many other countries where their main production is food and export the best to other countries and the worst stays in the country (i.e.: Colombia and their coffee). 2. People who work for the goverment live better. 3. No private companies. 4. Robotic animals (hummingbirds, honey bees...) to watch people, this reminds me to drones now. 5. Katniss unawareness of what happens in other districts, like Cuba where their television only shows what their government is doing, and they should never question their country or they are expelled. 6. Food shortage, because it is measured by the government (communism? socialism? fascism?). 7. After the games, what occurs to the gamers (depression symptoms, PTSD symptoms, anxiety) symptoms. What do you think?

Ikr. I miss Cinna so much! He was so awesome but life just simply stayed on course. I mean a guy like Cinna at least deserves a funeral! #hungergamestrioligy

I don't understand how Foxface accidentally ate nightlock... wasn't she supposed to be really smart and everything?

I think that Foxface did not die but faked her death. She knew about berries and food and traps. So why die about berries , she faked it she ate the berry on faking it she stole the bag ate a berry that looked like the posionous berrys then faked her death .

Foxface was from district 5 which was responsible for generating power and was one of the richer districts. Little to no people signed up for Tesserae there and I do believe she faked her death to get away from it all. She seemed to have little training in anything else and I think she knew she didn't have too much of a chance by herself and so faked her death before someone else could. District 5 male who wasn't named, died in the bloodbath too so without that additional support she really had no other choice then to fake it.

I have a conspiracy theory that Katniss and Lucy Gray(from The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes) are related. It could also be a relative, like a cousin or a sibling of Lucy. Why you may think? Well Lucy was the artist behind the Hanging tree song and when Katniss sang it she talked about that her dad tought her it. And the song could have gone through generations. That´s why I like to think that they are some how related.
The hanging tree song has a lot of power both in the Hungergames trilogy and in the balad of songbirds and snakes. And I really think that Collins knew what she did, it was not an accident.

I saw a video that said Lucy Gray was President Coin... I mean it kind of makes sense, if Lucy Gray survived she most likely would have made it to District 13. And Coin is described as looking younger than Lucy Gray would have to be but Katniss doesn't know what old people look like (people die young in 12, people have plastic surgery/makeup in capitol). I don't know if I believe it though, they act so different...

Lucy Gray actually got kidnapped and she didn't leave Snow on purpose. We only see it from Snow's perspective and he very likely perceives it different because he doesn't know the whole story.
Or Lucy Gray went back and got the Covey but before she made it back Snow left.
Doesn't that make sense because they had such a good relationship

1. I had visions and i swear I am gale guys. Im 6’7, go out every morning at 5 am so shoot birds. I used to be a coal miner #bodygoals and also I had a really weird dream about Katniss Everdeen where I saved her from *holds puke* pesto or peeta or whatever his name is.
2. Enobaria sharpened her teeth to avoid being s*x tr*ficked by snow/capitol government

Suzanne Collins is my grandma, she just doesn’t know it yet because I swear I kinda want to write a book (6’7 matcha loving beabadoobee fan).
