My Ridiculous Spreadsheet of Lists

2008 list I think, 'cos the 2006 one begins with Never Let Me Go. I'm so pissed off when they (or he/she) kicked it out along with many personal favourites.
I love your spreadsheet however, Adam. Always get crazed with sth. like this.

I also love making lists so I created a copy for myself.

In the File menu, but I don´t know if it will work... my formulas went wonk so I left at Google Docs.

I went ahead and added the Oprah list as well. I originally omitted it because I'm not the hugest fan. But there are some great books on there. Anyone who gets "average" reader to read exceptional novels does right by me.

If you do an export, you can save it as an xls file. The formulas need to be updated, but it shouldn't be to hard.
To Count the things that have been X'd you do a COUNTIF(A:A,"X") and to do the percent you do a
COUNTIF(A:A,"X")/COUNT(B:B).
Ditto for the Y and the Z.

Thanks Adam. Almost killed myself over the spreadsheet. Ha
And would you please put in the major mystery awards too, like the Edgar, the Agatha, etc. Thanks

Adam,
Thank you for sharing - always interested to see what people are reading.
How did you decide on the ranking?
Is it just personal feeling.
I'm also a list-person. I put mine into Alpha by title, with a hope that will distribute them relatively evenly.

Wow, this is pretty awesome. I'm going to spread it around to the teachers in my building and the district's librarians. They'll love it.
@ Brooke
I just hit ctrl+click and it opened, so I don't think you need set up anything. And then under file, you hit export and choose the file format to save on your own computer.

thank you Adam!

I'd only gotten as far as the Mod Lib list. This has saved me loads of time.
You are both wonderful people!

(God, I'm going to be a monster at bookstores from now on...)

Madeline, that made me snort out loud!! "I will love him and hug him and pet him and squeeze him and call him George!"

I've got sheets for the all the biggest awards, the BBC list, the 1001 list, and even a NBBC sheet.
It's a little over the top, but I enjoy lists and seeing how my reading stacks up. I generally read whatever I feel like, but I do try to target an award winner once or twice a month.
Anyhow, give it a look over. If you are interested in having your own spreadsheet, I think you can just go file->create a copy, but I'm not sure.
Let me know what you think and if you have any good lists I'm missing.
