Meditation is a great way to calm the mind and relax the body. This is also one of the best ways to keep your spiritual balance, reduce stress, and to receive psychic information.

Brian Alston | 3 comments I most people don't understand why they are told to meditate. There is a reason why and I have discovered it. Yes it does the things that you have described as you say but there is more to it. There is a sight connected to meditation. Which has not been made known to the casual person who meditates or even the ones taught by the gurus or Yogis. They don't know why they just teach people to do it. In "THE MIDDLE ROOM" I speak of the sight from which meditation comes.

As one focuses attention on one thing (which can be breathing)thoughts will come in the mind and try to pull your attention away from what the attention is trying to focus on. If this happens just be aware of it and bring your attention back to the subject of your choice. It takes practice, but with time you will be able to enjoy the peace of just having one thing in your mind. For those, that seek an even deeper meaning to life and would like to transcend the mind practice not focusing on anything. Let go of the subject of attention and move into no thought. In the silence of mind we realize our true Self and are One with all.


Mrs Heather M Robb | 3 comments I have practiced and taught meditation for many years. In time we become the meditation, we do not meditate, although meditation practices are desirable. It is about being. In this place one embraces truth, love and joy. Yoga calls this Samadhi, but we can’t live in a state of bliss, of absolute union all the time, but it is a state of being too. If stress rises, we become still internally. If we are in a darker energy , we add more light to our bodies and chakras, so in this way, we live it.
I have found meditation transforms people permanently, and science has shown it does,change our brainwaves. I have watched deeply traumatised people heal from meditation when it seemed nothing else worked.
There are many types of meditations, but I often find visualisation works well,for most people as it keeps,their mind focused on the same thing. But the best way with time, is to allow,the meditation to form itself. I find we know what’s best when we can slow the, internal chatter and surrender, it is given to us.
I can write much but this is enough for now.

Satish Tripathi (drstripathi) | 6 comments Meditation is not a choice, its our need to live our everyday life sanely and happily. Meditation is the understanding of the reality. When you understand that, what you become is meditation, not what you do.

What is Meditation Actually?

Truely said we become meditation. Meditation is our very being not what we do. Practices of meditation are just a help which may or may not lead to that state of being. What is Meditation Actually?

I agree with you. To add further I feel that "thoughtless" and "no thought" are not the right words to describe meditation. In meditation thoughts are there, we simply are not attached to thoughts. Like a football player, who is so involved with the play (the present) that he hardly notices any thoughts. Thoughts come and go, he is not bothered by them as he has become the play, he has become that moment. You must have felt that while writing. We all become meditation from time to time.
What is Meditation Actually?

Joffre McClung | 8 comments while centering and quieting meditations are the most common. they are not the only kind. In my book on self-love, we use meditation to actually follow the thoughts to their source and work there to heal and transform pockets of pain. We also use meditation to dialogue with various parts of ourselves. Meditation is simply focusing your attention what and how you use that attention can vary greatly.

Peter Gibb (petergibb) | 2 comments I am a meditator (35 years) author and blogger. I am exploring the relationship between meditation and writing, and would like to connect with others interested in this topic. For example, I find that meditating each day before I write helps calm and focus my mind, and thus be more creative. I am quicker to let go, and allow new ideas and words flow into me. I am also using guided visualization (which I consider a part, or an offshoot of meditation) to help me in writing.
Is anyone else using meditation to enhance creativity or writing? Want to chat?
