There are lots of confusable words in the English language. It can be really easy to mix them up if you're not careful.Although they sound alike they mean completely different things.

It amazes me the amount of times people get your and you'res mixed up or There, their and They're ,where,we're,were and wear.
I'm reading A book right now and have seen a vast amount of mistakes with confusable words.
I can only think this author edited, proofread and published it himself.
Editors and proofreaders get paid for this job and I think I have a really good chance of being one myself because I think I could do a better job than a lot of them.

Brake instead of break and ares instead of ours are amongst some of the bad grammar in this book.

Not everyone's perfect Nate, but I think before a books published it should be checked properly.

Nate | 98 comments Agreed, plus you are less likely to catch your own mistakes. That's why after this final revision I want to look into how much a professional proofreader/editor will run.

I've been editing what I've written so far,it's so easy to miss things.
I've gone back and forth so many times.I don't want my book to go out until it's perfect.I know an author who has offered to proofread for me free for my first book as I promoted his books on Goodreads when he was new.
David is from the U.K.
I'm going to take a proof reading course soon myself, hopefully I'll be able to perfect my next book myself.

Then and than are very VERY common mistakes. But I'll tell one thing: There are many editors out there that do NOT do a good job, as Princess said. I look inside books all the time that were supposedly edited only to find glaring mistakes in them.

Since and sense

Nate | 98 comments It seems more common to find mistakes in ebooks than a traditional printed version.

Hopefully I'll find a repitable company or person cus I'd be embarrassed if my book that ppl pay for had a ton of mistakes in it.

If it were me, I would just take a pen and correct it all. Regardless of if it's a library book or not. That sounds appalling! D: (Or, get sticky-notes and write the correct word onto the notes, and stick them about the incorrect word.)

Anyway, I make the mistake of sometimes getting my "To" and "Too" mixed up, unfortunately. But, when I realize, I correct it straight away.
