Vaelin | 0 comments Hi all,

I am yet to read a Jeremy Robinson novel but wanted to find out how important it is to read the series in order? Or are they all standalone stories??

Instinct looks excellent and keen to try that one over Xmas

Thanks

Rizwan Khalil I haven't yet read any Jeremy Robinson books but he's definitely on my next-read list! Almost all of his books look like awesome fun.... I don't know for sure, but from the various reviews and plot summaries I got the impression that Atleast The Chess Team/Jack Sigler series and Antarktos Saga: The Last Hunter series should be read in order to properly understand all the details. I can be wrong though, and hope someone who read JR can give you a proper answer Vaelin. Just my suggestion, start with Pulse which is the 1st book in Chess Team series rather than Instinct which is the second one.

I have Pulse in my books, so if you decide to do a buddy read at some point, let me know.

I've read The Didymus Contingency, and although it says it is book 1 of a series, it read as a stand alone. Of course I haven't read the rest of the series yet. This is one of those authors that I really enjoyed and have been planning on reading more from...hopefully soon!

Rizwan Khalil Lisa, as far as I know, Didymus is a stand-alone novel and not connected to any other books or series storywise. This book and some other earlier Robinson novels such as Antarktos Rising, Raising the Past, Kronos and Beneath were later republished as "Origin" books that means they are the "First Five books" by Jeremy Robinson. But ofcourse I can be wrong about them as I haven't yet read any of them.

Dave Edlund (dedlund) I'm reading Prime now, nearly finished. It is a Chess Team adventure, but does not show up in Goodreads (I tried to add it). A very good story, I'll post a review when finished. Good to read these comments about some of Robinson's other novels, I'll definitely read more.

Dave, I found it listed here Prime (A Jack Sigler Thriller) by Jeremy Robinson . It looks like it came out this past summer, but is a prequel to the Chess Team Adventure Series. I've been wanting to read this series, so I think I will start with this one. Thanks for mentioning it and look forward to reading your review.

Thanks Rizwan. I thought it was a stand-alone, but Goodreads listing it as a series threw me off. Your explanation made sense :)

You are welcome :)

Dave Edlund (dedlund) Callsign King - Book 2 - Underworld (A Jack Sigler - Chess Team Novella) by Jeremy Robinson I was deeply disappointed with Callsign King. Definitely should not be billed as a Chess Team adventure because only King is present. Deep Blue even plays a minor role. So, to answer the question, "Should the books be read in order?" I'd say yes. There are some glaring continuity gaps between Prime and Callsign King.

I am in the middle of a review reading cycle, so I don't have the time now. I hope you're enjoying it!

To go along with the whole Chess Team thread, I agree with those who suggest reading the books in order, and I would start with Pulse, not Prime. Read them in the order they were published. Learn about the characters as the author intended. I just picked up Prime today for only $0.99, but I have read all the other Chess Team books in the order they were published. I have only read a few of the stand-alone novellas (1st King, the Queen and the Rook novellas). They are not full Chess team stories, but then again, they are not labeled as such either. I would say they are optional reading.

We read 'Secondworld' here for a Group Read a few years ago. I thought it was pretty good and have been meaning to read more from him.

Jenny a.k.a....Jenny from the block | 180 comments Question on the Origins series
It seems that each one is different so what is the connection if any between each story?

I've only read the first in the Origins series, so not sure about the connection either. Would love for someone who knows to jump in here...
