West Branch Iowa Readers discussion

The WBPL discussion for January will be These is My Words by Nancy Turner. We are requesting copies this morning and they should start arriving next week.

I'm excited for These is My Words. I put a few of my favorite books into GoodReads, and These is My Words is one of the recommendations that I got back.

I'm not going to make it to the discussion Tuesday night. (It's Ben's 13th birthday.) But I read These Is My Words and liked it a lot. I loved the voice of Sarah Prine and enjoyed the diary format. I also thought the book gave a good sense of what life was like in the late 19th century. The story itself was a little slow and predictable at times, but I still thought this was an enjoyable read!
