writing competitions
a short story of the month for people who maybe can't finish the novel / don't have time that month (I actually really like this one and will probably do it!)

Reading challenges, book cover challenges, author/title ABC challenges, cover theme challenges, genre challenges, those are some.

also like, I don't know, like art challenges? Like you choose a book, read it, and then you make something that represents the book with drawing, collages, films (like you know, short artistic films), paintings, etc. Idk, just an idea :)

Wow, I actually really like that idea. I think I'll add that to the Yellow Wallpaper thread and maybe come up with a larger project or something for the January book. Thanks!

I think it would be great if monthly books were selected a little differently. For example, having a theme of the month (Dystopian, Romance, Historical Fiction etc) and books are nominated from within that theme. The themes could be quite specific or quite broad, but that way we could have books that only have to be nominated once, without ending up with loads in the poll, and are then voted upon.

We could even vote/suggest themes.

Yeah, that would be great :) Any suggestions for February's theme. Maybe romance for Valentines day?

Rose on the cover? Heart on the cover? Couple on the cover? Red or pink on the cover?

I'll put the suggestions thread for the February BOTM up in a few days. Until then, feel free to comment on what you think the theme should be.

Thanks, they just popped into my head. Another one is a book that was released in February.

They all sound great to me - I think Romance would be a good idea - That way it isn't too limited. And it would definitely work with it being February :)

I'm going to host a february mini challenge so if you have any suggestions that would be great. Should the theme be romance as well or do you want something else?

Well I really like the image on the cover ideas, but maybe we could broaden it to anything having to do with valentines day on the cover
