i think shay is better for calla then ren i have read all 3 books already and i just believe that everybody like's ren cause he is that one character thats in every book that everyone loves and is drawn too but to me he seemed like a ass hole in book one but shay was more cooler

SHAY!!!!!Ren seems like all he really wanted from Calla was sex and for her to do everything he told her to do. I agree with Brynn, Shay is willing to leave everything behind for Calla.

I think Ren would have been the better mate. I believe she didn't feel the same because they were always going to be forced together, that was unfair. If Ren was in Shay's place she would have chosen Ren over Shay. Calla didn't like the idea that she was going to be forced to marry him, but the moment Shay comes along she sees the freedom that he brought. This liberated feeling allowed her to fall in love with him. Ren couldn't offer that. I believe that Ren genuinely loved Calla more than people give him credit for. She loved him too.

About the Shay "leaving everything for her", what exactly did he leave? He didn't have any parents, family or friends. All he had was Bosque Mar posing as his creepy uncle. He didn't really give up anything. Ren on the other hand would have had to give up his family, friends and his entire way of life. Which by the way he did, he uprooted his whole life by the end of the book by his love for Calla. He followed her and he fought his own father for her.

I've only read the first book, so I'm not sure if I would change my mind later. I would think Shay is the better of the two. Ren just pushes it too much and is kind of pervy. Calla and Shay seem like the perfect team because it isn't forced on them.
However, it might just be the forbidden that appeals to her and not so much Shay, himself. But in her place, I really would just choose Shay.
