Sara Koren | 1 comments Depens on what kind of books you like. if you like fantasy more like fairy tales then I suggest "The dragonbone chair" and "inkheart" trilogy. If you like fanasy more like si-fi than I suggest "Across the universe". "I am the messenger" is also a great book, just like "Book thief". "His dark materials", "The mortal instruments", "Laura", "Oksa Pollock", "Harry Potter", "Percy Jackson", "Famous five" and "The princess diaries" are also a great trilogys (probobly not spelled like that). And some more great books:"The host", "The book of lost things" and "Endymion Spring". I hope I helped you. :)

Great book by the author of The Maze Runner!

Valentina Markasović I just read the second book in Angel-In-Training series,Grounded and it was as awesome as the first one, Winging It!
Winging It is free for download on Amazon, if you're interested.
It may seem a little silly, but, excuse me language, shit gets serious in the second book

Graceling, by Kristin Cashore. My favorite is the prequel, Fire (which I'm actually rereading atm ^_^)

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm reading If I Stay right now and it is really good.

message 13: by Valentina (new)

Valentina Markasović Now that I think, you asked for fantasy book, and the setting in Winging it is high school, so I guess it's not exactly what you're looking for
(but I'm still going around and shoving the book in everyone's faces because it's my new favourite).

If you haven't read Ella Enchanted, it's very good.
Loki's Wolves is for younger readers, but still entertaining.
I agree with Sara about "The book of lost things" and "Endymion Spring"

Hope you find what you're looking for :D

Graceling and Fire are amazing. So's Bitterblue, but I agree with Andra that Fire's my favourite :)

Oh my god I just re-finished it on my flight and so many things I had forgotten and so many feels and they're so sweet and ahhhh I love Fire so much.

If you're of the age, Game of Thrones is a stunning piece of literature. However, I don't recommend it for anyone not in high school yet or not yet reading more advanced books...

Indeed! It's been a busy two months, but after tomorrow it'll be back to the usual save the occasional beach weekend.

How's life been for you?

Ella Enchanted sounds good- thanks!

Ooh, that's exciting! Freshman year was not as bad as everyone made it out to be. ;)
Good. It'll be a bit boring now that my sojourn in Europe is over, but hey, I'm not complaining! ^_^

Don't worry about it, trust me. I go to a hard school, and I have to say, what the teachers called prepping for high school in eighth grade was harder than anything freshman year.

Absolutely stunning! I just got home... Four hours ago, actually, and the States are already feeling positively boooring in comparison after two months in France and places. ;)

Valentina Markasović I was in Paris for two days, and yes, the city is beautiful, but the people were very rude. And no one wanted to speak English to us. o.O
After 12 days of wandering from Frankfurt to London and finally Paris, I was thrilled to finally be home, lol.

Well, it is France...
Could you imagine someone coming up to you and trying to talk to you in French? xD

message 23: by Valentina (new)

Valentina Markasović Of course not, but we were an organized group in a hotel and we even asked the guy if he knew any other languages (German, Italian) and he literally laughed in our faces and left the room.

I think we hijacked this topic, though xD

message 24: by corina (last edited Jul 20, 2014 09:04AM) (new)

corina (molteneyes) Some people there are rude, but not as many as people say. The further from super touristy areas, the nicer, it seems to me. Honestly, if I had to deal with tourists all day, I'd get ornery too.
I speak French, though not fluently, so I had no problem. In fact, the opposite problem: they would switch to English after I would talk in French to them once they heard my accent.

I confused some poor guy terribly when I started to order in French out of habit, then said "so sorry" and proceeded to order in the correct Romanian xD

Oh, god, no, I could have stayed forever. :)

message 25: by Valentina (new)

Valentina Markasović i'm glad you had fun ^^
i hate language barriers, but my attempt to learn french failed miserably, lol

corina (molteneyes) You too!
Ugh barriers.
I've been taking French for about four years now, plus the language immersion lasting a month and a half helped (I hope) ^_^

I'm positive you don't have any reason to be worried anyways :) High school is mostly pretty fun.

It's amazing. I love to travel, and I never get sick of it.

I second that. Things like accents, slang, etc you font pick up in a classroom, except maybe if you're learning from a native speaker.

message 28: by Valentina (new)

Valentina Markasović Anyway, anyone here who's read Kane Chronicles and/or The Heroes of Olympus? I loved Percy Jackson, I read the last two books in English, so while I wait for them to be published in Croatia, I decided to give other Riordan's work a go.
Which series should I read first?

message 29: by Valentina (new)

Valentina Markasović Thanks for replying, girls, I think I'll go with Heroes, I really miss the familiar faces :)
