It's an interesting mixture of comfort with a loved one and a situation continually turning for the worse with an arising horror of being taken advantage of. Our protagonist keeps referring to something that happened in the past, what do you (did you before you finished) think it was?

I'm a huge King fan (I read most of his books, and have even more than I read) but there is something about the first chapter that turned me off, the discussions of rape, and then the way (SPOILER) she kills him (SPOILER) was kinda more of a gross-out turn-off to the book for me.
That being said, however, I am now on Chapter 5; started it last night, and I am starting to enjoy it more.
I like how he really drags out the story, to make you feel how slow time is passing by for her.
