C. (Comment, never msg). (riedel) Hi Stacie! I would *so* love a (5/5) type rating beside these. An idea of what you think at a glance, without clicking. Avery Aames for instance; I haven't had luck with food series yet but people say she's great. Does Laura Childs get any better? Her second tea book and first cackleberry book are SLOW. I pre-collected a ton and hope I needn't be scared! ;-)

I haven't been interested in the coffee shop but LOVE Alice Kimberley's ghost series - which really needs to get back going. There isn't enough adult paranoraml as it is; without trying to make it comical. Oh, to bring back the gothic mysteries of the 1970s-1980s!

C. (Comment, never msg). (riedel) Hi Stacie! What did you think of "Aunti Dimity Digs In"? It was the first time I gave Nancy Atherton a 4/5. No part of the mystery was explosive but I maintained a good rating because I love her characters and writing. It was also interesting to see their town.

How did you like "Cloaked In Malice"? I own the Annette Blair novels up to that one and they look fantastic. In fact I need that one next. If I knew yours is a paper book and you were willing, I'd love to trade! I keep a list of titles I don't mind giving away. Yours truly, Carolyn.

Stacie Amelotte | 116 comments So I just changed my level from 3 to 4 since I obviously passed my goal of 20 books this year. I am totally addicted to cozies. They are sanity, my escape. The past month as been a rough one for me and my family. On April 6th we suffered a house fire. Everyone got out of the house in time except for our beloved cat, Mercutio. I thank God for watching over us. If we would have been asleep, I am certain we would not have been able to get out in time. I lost all of my cozies and I am starting my collection over. I know I will be turning to reading cozies even more so through this period of regrouping and recovery. It is a new challenge for me in more ways than one. I dedicate this to you, Mercutio

Hi Carolyn! As soon as I get a chance I will edit my posts and include a rating/review. Thank you for the suggestion.Life has just been a bit crazy. I enjoy Avery Aames' series a lot. I'm a bit of a foodie so I have quite a list of culinary cozies I enjoy. Laura Childs tea series does get better. Some of it becomes repetitive but the characters have shown a lot of development over the years. I have only read the first crackleberry book and I agree it was slow. I've heard the series improves though so I might have to revisit it soon.

I didn't think I would like the coffee house series, I have never been a coffee drinker but it has become one of my favorites. Cleo has such a great writing style it totally draws you in. I haven't tried her ghost series yet.

The Aunt Dimity series is a really fun read. I love the town and the characters as well as the fact that the stories are mysteries. It doesn't always have to be about a murder. It is a refreshing change to read Atherton's writings.

Annette Blair's series is really a good read. She is a talented writer and she ties the "magic" element into the story in a believable way. The paranormal element enhances the story line rather than over power it. Cloaked in Malice was one of my favorites as it gives a lot of insight into Dolly and her past.

I would love to work out some trades. Right now things are up in the air because of the fire. As soon as things settle down I can assess everything better. Paperback is my preferred method as you just can't beat curling up with an actual book.

C. (Comment, never msg). (riedel) Oh no! Was there no place for him to run out? That's terrible! Yes, there is thanks the rest of you got out. But of course cats are equal family members. What an unbelievable loss this would be! About the only thing that makes escaping without possessions seem smaller. I'm so sorry Stacie. Please know you have my heart: sending the remainder of your family prayers, love, and healing. Carolyn

Stacie Amelotte | 116 comments The smoke filled the house within minutes. We looked everywhere for him in the short time we had but no luck. The firefighters did find him once they arrived but by then he had passed from the smoke. He definitely was an equal member of the family. I hug my kids and my dogs even closer every day now. It has been such an overwhelming experience. Thank you for your kind words Carolyn.

C. (Comment, never msg). (riedel) You looked hard and that makes a difference. It wasn't that you went "forget the pets, only people are important"; an attitude I could never bear. You wouldn't leave without pursuing every effort and I admire that, from the bottom of my soul. I'm sorry Mercutio was out of sight. I will honour him along with you.

I gave several of my cats shit just before reading your news, for stepping onto a vacant neighbouring property and a couple of them attempted to evade me. Perhaps it was more about not wanting me to be angry. I am determined to teach them to follow rules, or they mustn't go out. There is a crawl hole in our house that we ensure is blocked because it's one place we couldn't reach them. It is a relief to me to know it's off limits. I worried about a forest fire once and packed important things all night just in case. It was a false alarm but I consider that an answered prayer. I'm going to e-mail you and see what YOU need, even though trading in the future will be nice. Sincerely, Carolyn.
