What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I cannot remember the name of this book.
I remember it was relatively short, had a blue cover on it with a picture of a boy.
The boy's mom had curly hair and once she straightened it; it irritated him so much he jumped on her and tore at it.
People at school called his internet 'girlfriend' "retard girl".
There was one boy (I can't remember his name) who was nice to him.
Protagonist had a younger sibling/cousin, I think?
Repeated mentioning of 'flapping hands'.
From an odd first-person perspective, if I remember right.
Protagonist meets the girl on a website where writers post their own stories, both of them are authors. They meet up at a convention and he tries to be 'normal' but unfortunately she notices his autism.
