2014 New Year 'Reading' Resolutions
I plan to read everything on this list: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
It'll be a huge challenge. I actually just plan to get most read haha.

Read Harry potter for the first time. (I only read half of the first one when i was younger, but at the time, that sort of book didn't interest me.)
Finish the majority of sequels i have. (We might just be able to finish all these sequels by 2015, Sarah! Haha.)
Read the books that have been on my bookcase for over a year.
I have some that have been sitting there for 2 years. They're feeling unloved, haha.
I'm going to try and read one series a month that I want to read, as well as some standalones. Not sure if I'll actually manage it, but I really want to try!

I'm also looking forward to finishing all sequels as soon as I can. I have 60+ sequels left unread. Hopefully it'll be finished before 2015 starts, except of course for those unpublished, yet.
I'm reading the 5th Harry Potter one at the moment haha. I think I'm as far through it as I've ever been. Not read the last 2 either.

Haha, i haven't watched the films for the same reason!
I borrowed the first one from my school library when i was 8, but i just wasn't into that kind of genre back then, so i was bored. I've been meaning to give them another go for a couple of years, but haven't got round to it.

You haven't seen the films? how have you managed to avoid them? I'll have to lend them to you! I think I ended up with them on dvd and blu ray cause I got a boxset for christmas 2012 (and oops, they're still in their celophane wrapper.)

That would be good ☺ I won't be able to read them in January though :( I have 41 review copies to get through.

I still have 79 sequels to read. I'll join someone for Harry Potter. The books are so much more fun when you play Pottermore online at the same time as reading them. I like getting to the end of each chapter and answering the questions and doing the challenges ☺

It was really hard, i have to admit! My cousin went through a phase if loving the HP movies, so i had to walk out the room every time they were on.
I just hate watching the movie first. :(
I have seen plenty of gifs around though! I' ve probably seen half the movies trough them, haha!
Sarah: Ok good haha. I'm going away on the 7th anyway and get back on the 26th so I have no time.

@Sarah: Thanks. :D It'll be great. 3rd time to the States.
@Abbie: Sweet! I've read the first one, and I own random ones in the series haha. I mean to buy and read them all though.

So is anyone else excited for 2014?! I am at the point now where I want it to start because I want to start the challenges!

Abbie, when do you plan to read HP?
It's basically just a website where you can go through the books and discover things. Make friends with other Potterheads. Yeah. It's pretty cool.
We should have a new challenge starting as the festive spelling ends. I think Abbie is posting sign ups either today or tomorrow ☺

Abbie, when do you plan to read HP?"
Probably sometime next month or the month after. :)

There are levels for each chapter of the book, and you do things like mixing potions and exploring diagon alley and stuff. I actually really liked it when I did book 1 last year. It's totally free too, and there's loads of quotes and unpublished bonus material, and facts about the books and movies and stuff that you can't find anywhere else ☺

Yep, sign up will up tomorrow. :)

Another thing is I want to read more books for Read for Review and/or books from NetGalley. I still have 7 books from NetGalley that I haven't read. Maybe that's why I often got rejected by them, lol.
Oh, and I also want to try to finish series that I've started. I think at least one series a month. I didn't count how many series I've started but just like Abbie said if I don't start it, I might finish it on 2015 or even worse I won't finish it at all because it seems most of books are in series now.
Maybe you should sign up for the netgalley/edelweiss challenge - http://www.fallingforya.com/2013/12/2...
You don't have to have a blog to join in ☺

Very similar to netgalley, but their site is a bit more difficult to navigate. go to this address - http://edelweiss.abovethetreeline.com/
sign up for an account (you can't see the review copies until you have an account). I'm not sure if you have to wait for your account to be approved, I don't remember to be honest. But once you have an account, go to the same web page, and click the tab for 'review copies', the top of the page should look like this once you have an account -

when you click 'review copies' it should bring up a page with available titles -

then you click the blue 'request digital RC' button to request.
If you click on the little 'requests' tab below 'community' it should show you all the titles you have requested, and their status - accepted/declined etc. a bit like netgalleys reader dashboard. Edelweiss do have different books, but it took me ages to work out how to navigate it! If you need more help let me know ☺

There's a couple on your list that i need to read too, Jacquelyn. :)

It's only 1.5 hours to 2014, by the way.
