A This book is an epitome of overrated drivel.

message 4: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 20 comments This book was honestly so great. Before I picked it up, I hadn't read a book in about a year. I just lost the passion I had for reading. And after finishing The Fault in Our Stars it had reminded me of what I loved about reading. Lovely story, lovely writing. I'm now just really nervous about the movie.

message 5: by Emilie (new)

Emilie This book is so good. I read it and when I finished I went on to gift a (different, not mine) copy of TFIOS to my best friend who likes to read anything except romance. She loved it. I even gave the recommendation to my grandmother and she was shocked by how good a teen book could actually be.

message 6: by Abigail (new)

Abigail | 413 comments TFIOS is amazing! It's one of my top favorites. It's an amazing story and has deep meaning to it. I cried so hard though ;(

message 7: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (alexandra14) | 550 comments I read this book 8 months ago, and every time I remember this book my eyes fill with tears. It is a great book, the story, the characters and the style of how the book developed it was fascinating. Just two days ago I was recommending this book to a friend, I hope she like it.

message 14: by Princess (new)

Princess Godoy (bookishcess) (I might get hate here) Before I read this, many people are saying that it's really good and all that, that's why my expectation are so high and apparently it didn't get me that much but anyway it's a really good book to recommend to your friends :)

Same here. I don't get the insane hype surrounding this book. There are much better books out there.

message 16: by Erin (new)

Erin Vastag @Ayesha. I agree. It was a good book but not amazing.

message 17: by Zahra (new)

Zahra | 6 comments Well i loved this book because it actually meant something it wasnt one of those books that end with happily eve after like The Infernal devices Even though that was a great book it had an ending that was expected but this book was different it shows you life like real life

You should read the divergent series if you like meaningful and realistic books.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Read it, just about died, bought it, then gave it to my little sister to read. I take comfort in the knowledge that when SHE reaches the end and her heart shatters, she'll have someone to sympathize with. :D

message 23: by Sara (new)

Sara Shaw | 136 comments this book killed me. made me sob made me just want to die

message 24: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Morehouse (akmorehouse) | 1 comments This is a beautiful book that opens the door for so many people to talk about issues that one may not without the novel. It also does an excellent job discussing some of the psychological issues patients of serious illnesses can face while at the same time not being up front about this issues which can make a text seem too preachy.

message 25: by Yasmine (new)

Yasmine | 17 comments I gave this book to my sister to read and she hates reading. she finished the book in two days and she loved it. can't wait for the movie soooooo excited.....nat wolfe is playing issac

message 26: by Izzy (new)

Izzy (izzybookholics) | 580 comments It was pretty good.........

message 27: by asdfghjkl (new)

asdfghjkl (aveatquevale) | 63 comments This book honestly had me on my knees I was so emotional after finishing. I laughed, I cried; I was angry, I was upset but most of all: I do not regret reading it. An amazing book and John Green is my favourite author. I have high hopes for the movie and I'm about 90% sure it'll live up to them. I've seen Nat Wolff in Stuck in Love, Shailene Woodley in The Spectacular Now and Ansel Elgort in Carrie. Three of my favourite movies.

message 28: by Eric (new)

Eric (booksinhands) | 1 comments The leaked trailer gave me all the feels. OMG.

message 29: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (vorvesm) | 11 comments I think it helped me that I didn't know much about the book other than the fact that it was popular (the waiting list at the library was huge!), and I enjoyed it sooooo much. I read it really quickly and cried so hard at the end! It was soooo good!

message 30: by Misfit (new)

Misfit Please don't kill me!

Okay, here goes: I didn't like it.

message 31: by Fifth Horseman (new)

Fifth Horseman (fifthhorseman) Layla: My sentiments exactly!

message 32: by Misfit (new)

Misfit Sorry guys. It was just so over-hyped. Hell, it was too hyped. I was expecting a book like no other and I get something that just barely passes as okay, in my opinion. Honestly, it was the hype. I've recently noticed that books like this (that non-readers start to read) turn out to...kinda suck, for lack of a better word.

message 33: by Abigail (new)

Abigail | 413 comments I agree that for the first, say, 100 pages, I wasn't to hooked. But after that, I totally loved it. But I get what people are saying about it being overhyped. But I still think it's amazing

HI5 SISTER! TFIOS SUCKS. There are better books out there. I'm getting annoyed at the amount of posts relating to this book coming on my wall on FB.

Just because this book is bestselling doesn't mean that everyone should like it.

message 36: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) Amazing and beautifully written. I loved it its one of my favorites this year.

message 37: by A (last edited Jan 31, 2014 04:11AM) (new)

A Layla wrote: "I find it hard to believe that people can dislike the book, but I respect their opinions."

I find that statement of yours to be rude and harsh. Why can't anyone hate it? I personally found this book to be offensive and disgusting and I've even written a proper review stating my points why I disliked this book so much.

A lot of people hate my favourite books (HP, PJO, The book thief, Insurgent etc.) but I never make any statements like that. People have different opinions. Don't attack them for hating your favourite book.

message 38: by Misfit (new)

Misfit I respect anyone's opinion on the book! Just putting it out there.

message 39: by Nat (new)

message 42: by A (new)

A H OMG!!! I'm gonna watch it right now....!!

message 43: by Anna (new)

Anna (zanetaftanei) | 148 comments I finished this book in less than a day. It's been a few weeks since I read it, and I still can't talk about it without shedding a few tears. This story was so beautiful, it touched my heart in a way that only one more book managed to do it, Clockwork Princess. The characters were so well written, so mature and smart and funny it blew my mind. This book manages to examine a very difficult and sensitive subject in the most hilarious, heart-warming way. The Fault In Our Stars will always be one of my favorite books.

Fair enough. Since you we we have many favorites in common, let's become friends.

message 50: by Courtney (new)

Courtney (Courtneyanne18) I think Shailene will totally rock Hazel! Her and Ansel are just so perfect for the parts.
