What do you guys think about this series?

Sonja (sonjareadsandwonders) I really like the series. At first I didn't like Clary, but I grew to love her. My favourite character is Simon. I love him :D. What did you think about the series? And who is your favourite character? :)

I hate this series so much. Gosh, it is kiddish and immature and too mixed up and basically, terrible.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I like it, improved as it went on. Clary and Jace were annoying but in the last two books they let go of the angst and back and forth. Loved Magnus and Alec. The villains were complicated and creative.

Melissa Ramirez (melissaramirez) | 241 comments I never technically finished this series...I only got as far as the fifth book. It was good; and kept me reading (well, at least up until the fifth book) but I think the author's past reputation for plagiarism shines through a lot...it's kind of a mix of Harry Potter and every other supernatural plot ever written about; which certainly makes it magical, but it also makes it kind of confusing.

The movie was all right, if you watch it without the books in mind. The guy who played Valentine though, was an EPIC fail...he didn't live up to who I was thinking of in the book at all! I pictured him as like this tall, distiguished, supremely-evil older guy with graying hair and a cloak (don't know where the cloak part came from) but that's not at all what the movie people thought, apparently.

Malisa (jaygatsby) I really like this series. I admit it was a bit too slow and dragging in the beginning, but if you stick through it gets better. I loved the ending. Overall, worth a read.
