January - Let it snow Mini challenge - For those of us living in cold, northern climates during this time of year, it can be very snowy indeed. Let's do a snow-inspired challenge!

1. Let it Snow! is a song written in 1945. Read a book written in the 1940s.

2. Whiteout. A whiteout is a weather condition where visibility is severely reduced due to snow. Read a book with a predominantly white cover. - DONE -

3. All snowflakes have six sides. Read a book with the number 6 in its page number. (For example, The Golem and the Jinni has 486 pages.) - DONE - - 629 pages

4. Is winter over yet? Read a long book (a book with 500 or more pages) - DONE - - 630 pages

I signed up for 2. 1 is done, 1 more to go.
**UPDATE** I decided to increase my target to 3, and read one more book for this challenge.

I'm going to try and read 4 new releases this year. I'm not sure of exactly what they will be yet. But they'll likely be taken from some of the following categories -

1.I have read The Deja Vu Experiment by J.G. Renato - Which is a non-fiction book published this year

2. The second book I have read for this challenge is Wake: A Novel by Anna Hope - Which is a historical fiction book published in January 2014

3. For this challenge I have now read The Moon Field by Judith Allnatt which I am classing as my Fiction read. And it was published in Feb 2014.

4. I just read The Gatekeeper by Kim Watts. It was a truly brilliant book and was only published last month. I am counting it as my YA Fantasy read for this challenge

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME MINI CHALLENGE

I signed up for 2 :)

1. Read a book set in a place that currently uses daylight savings time.

2. Read a book set in a place that does not currently use daylight savings time.

3. Daylight savings time was first implemented in 1916. Read a book that takes place before 1916.

4. Daylight savings time was first proposed by a man named George Veronon Hudson. Read a book by an author who shares an initial with George Vernon Hudson.

This mini challenge was a total fail as I didn't finish a single book in March!
