Julie Inferno (Robert Langdon, #4) by Dan Brown
read off to a good start - :-)

Julie Off to a flying start, now done 2/12 books and only halfway through january :)

Careless in Red (Inspector Lynley #15) by Elizabeth George

Julie Uhh - if you have not read Two Brothers by Ben Elton please do! such a great read - though nothing like what I've read by Elton before it is by no means disappointing - we must never forget what went on in Germany in the years leading up to WWII (and offcourse during as well)

Julie Just realised I don't actually have 12 books on my list up there after ticking off this one: A Walk in the Woods Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail by Bill Bryson .

So added The Floating Admiral to my 2014 tbr-list, and will figure out which book to do for the last one asap :-)

Julie Finished Mellan rött och svart by Jan Guillou
It was nice to get the end of the story of the Lauritzen brothers and their families. But must say it was a bit disappointing in it's portrayal of the pre-war years in Germany - especially after reading Ben Eltons 'Two Brothers' so recently.

Julie Finished The Floating Admiral by Detection Club
Very clever idea! And makes a good read as well :-)

message 8: by Julie (new)

Julie Finished A Dangerous Fortune by Ken Follett

Always trust Ken Follett for a great read :-)

message 9: by Julie (new)

Julie The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1) by Robert Galbraith Done :-)

Very good read. Probably wouldn't have guessed JKR wrote it, so it's pretty obvious someone gave her secret away...

I'm thinking that when I finish these books I'll probably chose six more - it's a good way to focus my reading - and it's pretty obvious that I will finish these way before the end of the year at my current pace...

Julie Min broders vogter by Leif Davidsen was another great read featuring among other things the Spanish Civil War and pre-WWII Russia

message 11: by Julie (new)

Julie Dickens is always good for great character descriptions - a long book but a good read :-)
The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens

Julie Finished off A Feast for Crows (A Song of Ice and Fire, #4) by George R.R. Martin - hope the 6th book will be out soon, as I now only have the 5th left to read...

Have now done 11/12 books that I planned to read for 2014 when I made my list back in January. The only one missing is Mad About the Boy, and I'm still waiting for that to be ready from the library.

Therefore I decided to choose another 6 books, making my total TBR challenge for 2014 into an 18 books challenge. The next 6 books I chose are:

Elizabeth George - This Body of Death Read June 2014
George R.R. Martin - A Dance with Dragons Read August 2014
Ken Follett - A Place Called Freedom Read June 2014
Charles Dickens - Bleak House Read June 2014
John Irving - A Son of the Circus Read May 2014
Kirsten Hammann - En dråbe i havet Read July 2014

Julie Finished A Son of the Circus by John Irving
John Irving is always a guarantee for a great read - and this one did not disappoint me - long though it was

message 14: by Julie (new)

Julie Finally got a copy of Mad About the Boy (Bridget Jones, #3) by Helen Fielding from the library - fun read, though I do find Bridget slightly annoying... So now it's time to read those final books on my list :-)

message 15: by Julie (new)

Julie Bleak House finished - as always the character descriptions are amazing

message 16: by Julie (last edited Jun 06, 2014 01:48PM) (new)

Julie A Place Called Freedom by Ken Follett
As always Ken Follett delivers a great read!

message 17: by Julie (new)

Julie This Body of Death (Inspector Lynley, #16) by Elizabeth George
Am annoyed with Thomas Lynley after this one - but the plot itself was a good read

message 18: by Julie (new)

Julie Made it through En dråbe i havet (a fast read actually). It's been on my tbr-list since getting it for my birthday from a friend a couple of years back. I've had this feeling that it wouldn't be my thing, unfortunately I was right :-(

message 19: by Julie (new)

Julie Well, done with A Dance with Dragons (A Song of Ice and Fire, #5) by George R.R. Martin which means I'm also done with this year (extended) challenge - will definately be back in 2015 to make another one :-)
