There is a bug, at least for me, on the thread "* Welcome! -> Welcome! Insanity isn't quite so scary when shared with friends!". I did post a note on it but got no response so I am presuming no one else has the bug and that the comment did not register as new to anyone.

I would be grateful if you could investigate it for me Jo as it is driving me potty to see the same thread as if it had new messages each time I visit OGSG

I just replied to your post in the Welcome thread it did register as a new comment, but I'm often on my mobile phone and the app doesn't always update with all of the notifications so I reply when I'm actually online - and just saw this now being that I'm actually online on the site.

There's nothing I can do about it when that happens, that's a tech/goodreads thing. Try clicking on "newest" which appears to the right of "date" at the very first comment in the thread and then don't use the back page in your browser to get to the homepage, just click on our group name at the top of the page and see if that clears them up for you.

You could also try clicking on "(1 new)" (number is an example) on the home page which appears in read near the # of comments in a give topic but again, don't use your back page direction in your browser or that # will remain as new, go to the top of the page and click on our group name to go back to our home page.

Also, if you never visit a certain topic, it will remain like that with the new comments showing in red/as unread unless you visit the threads. This also happens if there are roughly 5 or more comments after you comment in a thread and don't visit the the thread once that many comments appear after yours.

Aside from that if neither of those suggestions work for you, contact goodreads in the feedback group and see if they can figure out what's going on.

I have tried clicking everything, going through each of the threads etc. It doesn't happen on any other group I belong to, only this one, probably I am too obsessive about it!

I have contacted Goodreads. But ever since I started the Everything BookLikes group they won't reply to me and cut off all emails about likes, comments etc. LOL. I do use sock puppet accounts to get replies, but in this case it would be obvious it was me!
