I can't say there's any one book I'm really looking forward to reading this year, I'm mainly just looking forward to reading. If you ask my kids they would tell you I read all the time but the truth of the matter is that I'm catching up on all the reading I missed out on during their "needy" years. I guess I am looking forward to seeing which book wins the Mark Twain Readers Award (4-6 grades) this year since I read all those books with my older daughter.
Funny enough I won't commit to giving "anything" to meet any author. If I could arrange a meeting I would probably try to meet Beth Moore, Mo Willems, or Sandra Boynton. Yes, the two latter authors write childrens' books but have you ever tried to keep the attention of a toddler? They have my utmost respect (not to mention write hilarious books).
I'm looking forward to meeting this challenge head on.

I'm kind of behind with new releases, so I'm not sure what's coming out in 2014...but I am forever counting down the days until Philip Pullman finishes The Book of Dust. Needless to say, I'd give my left pinkie finger to meet either him or Margaret Atwood. And MaddAddam was definitely one of my favorites of 2013!

Ah no, the dreaded pick-one-book-in-2014-that-you're-most-excited-for question! Seriously, this is one of the hardest questions to answer, because there are SO many books that I'm dying to read. But if I must, I think I'll have to go with City of Heavenly Fire. After all these years, I am deeply invested in this series. And with this being the final installment and this series being one of my all-time favorites, I think it's safe to say this is at the top of my list.
Gosh, what I wouldn't give to meet J.K. Rowling! I am a die-hard Potterhead and devout Hufflepuff. If I ever got the chance to meet her, I might actually die of a heart attack before it ever happened, that is how ecstatic I would be for that opportunity. But I also love so very many authors that I would absolutely LOVE to meet any of them.
It was nice to meet you all! *raises glass* Here's to happy reading in the year to come!

I'm hoping to read at least 50 books this year but it'll probably end up being at least 200 books. I read a lot!
The book I'm most looking forward to is definitely 'Return to Tradd Street' by Karen White. I have it ready for me to pick up at the library right now. =] And Karen White is the author I would most like to meet.

I'm shooting for 50 books, let's see how close I can get. As for the books I'm most looking forward to this year, hmmm. Well, there's Secret by Brigid Kemmerer, Cress by Marissa Meyer, Dreams of Gods & Monsters by Laini Taylor, Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins...that's just a few.
For authors that I'd love to meet, JK Rowling is at the top of the list, of course. Also Laini Taylor, Julie Kagawa, Tellulah Darling...there's just so many!
Thank you for putting this together. Can't wait to see how far I can get!

An author I will give anything to meet is Michelle Hodkin! I missed her a YALLfest back in November but I did get a signed book from her and she's a sweetheart!
I'm looking forward to soo many books in 2014 that I had to post a blog about it!

I always set a goal of 25 book but never actually get to that many so maybe 20. No specific 2014 book. However, I start Cell long ago but things come up and never finished so hopefully this year. By the way I am Marina, hello there :D

I'm aiming for the "Aficionado" level :) with 35 "real" books. This should be easy, but I've been reading tons from my Kindle lately.
The book I'm most looking forward to reading is

On that note, I'd love to meet Laini Taylor or Sara Zarr. I'm sure I would be a big, awkward, gushing mess! :)

My goal is to read 26 "real" books this year. It's half of my overall reading goal for this year, I think it's doable. :)
There are so many books I'm looking forward to this year, but if I had to choose one, it's probably Laini Taylor's Dreams of Gods and Monsters.
Thanks for organizing this challenge, it's gonna be fun! :)

My goal is to read 31-41 real books this year. I adore paper books, but I've mostly read ebooks lately. I have a bunch of books on my shelf that need some love, so I'm going to try and read those. I also frequent the library with my son, who is also a bookworm (my girls hate to read *sadness*), so I'm sure I'll have a few of those to add to this challenge.
The book that I'm mostly looking forward to this year is

Anywho, I'm looking forward to getting to know more booklovers, and cheering you guys on with your challenges.

I'll be posting everything here: http://thevoraciousreader.booklikes.com

Natchez Burning by Greg Iles is the book I have been most looking forward to being released in 2014. Since I had the opportunity to read it as an eGalley, I won't be including it in my RBC reads.
I'm not sure that there is any author I would want to actually 'meet' because I'd be too intimidated to have an actual conversation with them. I do enjoy going to book festivals and listening to authors discuss their books and writing and I try to attend any that are within a reasonable commuting distance.
In the words of the amazing Kate DiCamillo, I promise to always turn back toward you. - Flora & Ulysses

I would give everything to meet J.R.R. Tolkien, which would be a lot because he has to come back from the death for that. And I am really looking forward to Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas!

YES HARRY POTTER!!! Soooo, the obligatory question I ask is, what House are you?

I set myself a goal of 50 books because I have A LOT on my real bookshelves that I bought but haven't read yet. Yes, it's sad. So I'm planning on working through those! The book I'm most looking forward to is 'Watch the Face of the Sky' by Anna Lee Waldo. This is the third in a trilogy and I first started reading the series years ago. Plus I'm a sucker for Historical Fiction!

An author I would absolutely LOVE to meet would be (also) J.K. Rowling. I've been a Potterhead for years and she seems so genuine and I hang on her every word during interviews.
