Donna Hi, I'm not sure if I have got this in the right section, but I was wondering if anyone who has read this book can tell me whether or not there is anything explicit or inappropriate in it.

i was looking at getting it for my 12 yr old daughter. She has read the Twilight series, Vampire Academy, The Hunger Games & The Mortal Instruments. I don't mind if like Twilight, you have an idea that something is going to happen but just don't want there to be any details.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

Donna

Haye Lam Ish, there's a bit of sex but its not explicit it is more like twilight. Oh wait, no, there's like vampire rape.... yeah not good.

Donna Thank you Haye, I try to read the books before I let her read them, but sometimes it's just not possible. I had seen this book come up for free in iBooks & thought I'd find out about it before downloading.

Thanks again.

Jess Nightingale I wouldn't let my child read it, he's almost 13. I've let him read The Hunger Games and Divergent trilogies though. I always read them first before letting him read them as the content of some YA is borderline. ;)

Donna Thanks Jess. I agree with you about the content of some of the YA books. I try to read them first, but we are both quick readers & sometimes I just can't get into some of the books she wants to read. The Hunger Games was one of them. But I always find out from others first before letting her read anything. We have a local book store who are fantastic & the owner tends to read more YA books than anything else, so it's really helpful.

The Divergent series is another on my TBR list to check for her. But if you've let your son read them & he's the same age as my daughter I'll give it to her. As I said in my first post, I don't mind if the insinuation is there just no details. She is very mature for her age, but I believe kids need to be kids for as long as possible. I know a few people who've let their 14 yr olds read the True Blood series & a few other books that should be adult only.

Thank you for your post, I appreciate all the feedback.

Jess Nightingale No problem. She might like to try maggie stiefvaters books too ;)

Lee if your looking for a series that she may like, in fact you both would enjoy it
try the Morganville Vampire series.Start with Glass Houses its such a good series.

Another one is The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa. Its from the Blood of Edan series there are only three books. No sex at all, just a really good gripping story that will have your daughter dragging you to the book store for the follow on book The Eternity Cure
