Panem has a long and difficult history. It currently holds a wealthy, ruling Capitol surrounded by 12 poorer districts. Each year, 2 boys and 2 girls between the ages of 12 and 18 from each district are forced to do a bloody televised event called the Hunger Games, hosted by the coldhearted Capitol. When Katniss Everdeen (main character) has to take her sister's place in the Games, she is scared of death and knows its coming soon. but she has come close to death multiple times already. in my opnion the book is overall a outstanding book, mainly because it always wants you to keep reading to find out whats next. I always use to here people talking about it but i never believed them. Now i cant wait to read the next 2 books in the sequel!
