Category 2: Fire and Hemlock by Diana Wynne Jones.Because it is very discussable and I think the ending needs to be talked about. Ooh, but there are SO many good YA that might not be great for discussion, but are excellent for reading! Anything chosen I'm sure will be well-worth reading.
Category 2: The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexiealthough I've already read this book, I'd be really interested in hearing discussions on it! (Plus, who can resist reading Alexie again and again?)

but it won't be released until OCTOBER ..ugh.. :P I want to read it! I used to work at a coffee shop, so I can relate to some of the humor and stuff in her book's description... plus it's loosely based on Jane Austen's Emma, so.... could be good! Instead, I'll nominate Julie and Julia My Year of Cooking Dangerously by Julie Powell for Category 1. The movie's coming out next month, too.
