Evan (sampsom) | 578 comments I'm from the uk, and so live under the NHS, I will say it is actually a Godsend, I need insulin and it is there, I get new testing equipment all provided. We have no large bills to pay it creates a fair chance. Yes some people abuse the system but that happens with all welfare systems.

One thing I would say is that the NHS has a big waiting system, it can take almost half a day to be seen in a&e and waiting for organs can take a very long time.

This is just a brief insight into what I have seen of it.

I often wonder why people don't have a free healthcare system despite the rise in taxes!

Jenni (thefabjenni) | 42 comments Sorry Lia, I should have clarified.

'The National Health Service is the publicly-funded healthcare system of the United Kingdom. The organisation provides the majority of healthcare in the UK, from general practitioners to Accident and Emergency Departments, long-term healthcare and dentistry. '
