Mackenzie I did not like the ending of this book at all. Red's main goal is to get her brother back right? That is what she is trying to do for the whole book! And then at the end...I don't know, she gives up! I'm sure she could have found a way to stay with her brother! I just do not like the end. at all. I could not even read the third book because I just felt so...bothered I guess.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anybody else thought this way, or if I was the only one.
Please post your thoughts!

Sorrel I was a bit upset because I so wanted Red to get her little brother back but... I saw why it had to be so. It made Red look strong and the bigger person- much better than the fairies. Also... I don't know if I'd have liked a completely happy ending, you know? The imperfect ending seemed to fit the series. But I was sad that it ended this way.
The last book is really, really good (in my opinion), I'd give it a go at least.

Mackenzie I did skim the third book a little bit, and I really wanted to read it, I just...couldn't. But maybe I'll try again.

I agree with you. I really think that the author ruined the series with this. I mean for one thing she changed the formula of the story. The first book was campy and fun. Good triumphed in the end and everybody was happy, the ending fit the set up for the story and it fit things well. But really? I think that she should not have abandoned her cousin, and i don't really like the fact that her cousin was older. I think the story would have worked much much better if she had to struggle (actually have conflict in the story!) and in the end got her cousin back and either went to live with Red's mom or with Fabian and the others. Also maybe Fabian and I don't know THE MAIN CHARACTER OF THE FIRST BOOK! should be in the book for more than two seconds! I liked red's character but this book is probably one of the worst books I've read (good thing i haven't read twilight!)

Khadiyya I liked the ending because it teaches you that sometimes you have to make sacrifices.
