Lauren (aplpeach) A ton of bdsm or is it like 50 shades or less?

Amber I'm not a big fan of 50 shades. It wasn't even totally the writing I just did not like the characters. This book suited me better. The characters are developed better and the reactions to the BDSM thing are far more believable to me.

If I recall correctly it's mostly kinky sex however the whole BDSM is in there.

Ilana there's the under tone of BDSM here given the nature of our main character's habits, but it's not in the same vein as 50shades. it's a good story though, and there's a lot of good 'stuff' there, steam and heat of course, but the plot itself is compelling

Is he alpha and protective and possessive? Does he have to take care of her?

James is all of that but she has been on her own and taking care of herself that she does give him a hard time and keeps herself to a distance heartwise because ot it.

I actually found their relationship to be balanced because sometimes for me the women are written were I'm like stop being such a bitch to the hero, when they take offense to every little thing he does for them.

James is very delicate with her knowing she might bail at any minute.

Deborah Camp I agree. The relationships in this series are all balanced and realistic. They are strong people who have been toughened by life and their trust must be earned.

Jana - Kindle Addict characters and story better than 50 shades.

there is BDSM, but not like in 50 shades, that's for sure. james cavendish has only about 10 shades of grey compared to Christian Grey. :)

there is a lot more BDSM than if 50 shades of grey
personally i didn't like this trilogy or it's male lead who i found to be too cold and brutal espec in book 2 but for me the sex scenes felt cold and calculated not sexy at all
but that's just my opinion
