Q&A with Katie Macalister discussion

If you have questions or comments about the dragon sept books, feel free to share them here. I'll try to answer questions to the best of my ability, but be warned that I can't answer things that will be detailed in upcoming books.

Also, please note that there may well be spoilers in these discussions, so if you haven't read the dragon sept books, be wary of reading the thread lest plot points be ruined for you.

Are we gonna hear anymore from May and Gabriel after "Me and my Shadow"? I'd really like to see Gabriel become a daddy....

I have more of a technical one, are your dragon books going to come out in audio format again? I know that some are in audio but they are incredibly hard to find.

What story will be next after the Silver dragons? Will you be telling the Black's story? Or maybe the Red's?

Yeah, I know but I am a sucker for the actual audio books in there cases and the art work on the covers. Sad me, but oh well.

Well Kate I have loved the Vamp books you wrote and I am now waiting on the Dragon ones to arrive from Fishpond.

Do you know how many dragon books there will be? Will they stop after the Silver dragon books wrap up? (I hope not!)

Yup, May and Gabriel are in the new dragon sept series. As are Jim, Aisling, and Drake. It's starting to get crowded in the dragon books... :)

Holy Smokes is coming out in August via Recorded Books, who did the other three. I have no idea if they are planning on doing the silver dragon books, but I hope so. I dearly love Barbara Rosenblat narrating them.

I hope you like the dragons as well. I am having a lot of fun with all of the fussy bits with their histories and politics. :)

At this point, I don't see an end in sight for the dragon books. They most definitely will not stop with the last silver dragon book; the first book of the new sept series will be out May 2010.

Great! Thanks for the info and I hope that they will do your Silver Dragon series in audio as well. Audio books are the best!

Man if you wrote Kostya's story we'd all go insane trying to keep up with his mood swings. Me personally though Can't wait for the next one. And this is going to be one you can't answer but food for thought for the general population. Is Chaun Ren going to replace Magoth??? That would be hilarious and she would drive Bael insane.

So how can we apply to read for the audiobooks? I think that would be fantastic...gee, what a job! I could make money reading...who would've thought?!?! :O)

More like a statement - I love the Dragon books. I also like the fact that they are not easy love stories - they have to work for it.

My question --- will we ever see Jim's story? I think that he deserves one!

Well, as the years pass, all the wyverns are going to be taken, so barring death and destruction, something is going to have to give at some point. :)

Wouldn't that be fun? I have to say, though, that I think Barbara Rosenblat does such a marvelous job with the Aisling books, especially for Jim, I can't think of anyone else reading them. The scene in Light My Fire where Jim gets a tooth knocked loose just kills me when Barbara reads it.

I doubt if Jim will get a full length novel to himself. He is pretty devoted to Cecile. He does, however, have his own short story in the Death's Excellent Vacation anthology, which will be out next August. That'll have to hold people over. :)

I Agree with Marnie that would be cool, but i would like to see the rest of the dragon sets before then.

My only big question is does Alec get his own story or is it just that little tempt that we get?

I am not sure whether you are the right person to contact for my issue, but I havent'n got a satisfying response from anyone else, yet. So I'll just try.
Sometime ago I have purchased the first two books of your Aisling Grey series as audiobooks (read by Barbara Rosenblat). I really liked those books, but after two books of the same series I usually take a break and listen to something different before returning to the next one.
Unfortunately this time I had to find out that all the audiobooks of the series are no longer available in my country (in fact, I've the impression not even anywhere else). Could you please tell me something about the reasons, and perhaps when I may be able to listen to your books again?

Please forgive me for bothering you with an issue like that, but I would nevertheless be delighted to get a response to my concern.
