Bethany Baumgartner i enjoyed reading Maus a lot. i really liked reading it. i do admit though that if i saw this on a book shelf i probably wouldn't pick it up. due to the mice on the front cover.

Karley Yes same with me. It didn't look very good and I didn't think I would like it at all from looking at the cover. I really liked the book though and it put into perspective how bad the Holocaust was!

Bethany Baumgartner i know right! one thing i really enjoyed is that the author didn't only tell the story from the literature but from the pictures and hidden messages. for example the Nazis as cats and the Jews as mice.

Karley Yes! I also liked how sometimes he would go back to the present and they would talk about other things and how the Holocaust affected him. Such as, when he has to return the special K because he didn't want to waste it.

Bethany Baumgartner even though it was kind of confusing to read the book, because it was written as acomic book i would definately read the first book too.

Mari yes. I saw it and it looked very interesting. It was.

Bobbi I read this book when it first came out, quite a while ago, and was blown away by how good it was. In fact, I was reviewing it and a little nervous that I was overpraising it. As it turned out, I wasn't the only one who was impressed, and (bear with the cliche) deeply moved by this work of art.

Mia I inherited these books from my older sister. She had to read them at university. She really didn't like them, and I was curious, so she gave them to me. They did sit on my shelf for a while, but I eventually did get around to reading them.

If I had no clue what these books were about I'm not sure if I would pick them up. I do like graphic novels. Stitches and Ghost World top my list. But I'm not a big fan of animal characters.

Amber This book and it's companion are a part of my all time favorites.

Kama I really liked it. The mix of past and present added depth to it. I wanted to read it for a long time, and lately I got a chance to borrow them from my friend.

Loren I thought it was a comic book when I was in third grade and read about half of it, I didn't understand it and it made me cry; but I read it again when I was in eighth grade and actually knew a lot about the Holocaust. It still makes me very sad, but it portrayed the history and violence very well. I am quite glad that I just randomly piked it up one day.

Brian Dorsey Yes. Great book. I actually recommend it as a supplemental read to some history classes I teach.

Thierry Sagnier Absolutely loved the Maus books. Seminal graphic novels that should be used in every school and taught with other more standards history texts.

Bobbi I agree with you Thierry, they should use these in schools. The kids would be gripped, seeing the psycho-social fallout of war in a way that textbooks just can't deliver.

Irmak It is an awesome book that I recommend everyone. We are reading it at high school and tommorow we have an exam about MAUS. To be honest I think it is the best way to teach history.
