Hello All,
I will start out by saying that I hadn't read this work of Verne's before and I really enjoyed it. In a former life, I was a biologist and so the scientific aspect of the book interested me. I have to say that I haven't read anything so pro-science in a very long time. The overall tone was so enthusiastic! Does anyone have any thoughts on the author's attitude towards scientific discovery? Perhaps related to that point in history (1864) compared to modern views? Feel free to change the subject...
