i want to 'upload' pictures to comment.

SAMYAM!! Hey :) Ok so which do you want to do? Upload the pictures to your profile or upload a picture IN a comment?

To upload a picture in a comment:
1). Find the picture you want.
2). Right click on the picture and click "Copy Image URL" or some button that sounds like it (it varies from webrowser to web browser)
3). Type in this code in your comment box < img src="PASTE URL CODE HERE" >
*** don't put spaces between the < and i and no space between " and >

I finally found the Goodreads Formatting Tips. I remember seeing it somewhere but didn't remember where it was. Its a lot of writing to format the stuff the way you want it.

Formatting Tips
Goodreads allows some html formatting.
• well formed web urls automatically get turned into links
• link: a href="http://www.goodreads.com">my link text
• link to book: use the "add book/author" link or book:Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone|3]
• link to author: use the "add book/author" link or author: J.K. Rowling|1077326]
• image: img src= "http://www.goodreads.com/image..." width="40" height="100" alt="description"/> (Width must be 0-400, Height must be 0-1000, alt is a description of the image. All three are optional, but recommended.)
• bold text: b>...
• italic text: i>.../i>

• underline text: u>.../u>

• strike text: s>.../s>

• indent text: pre>.../pre>

• blockquote: blockquote>.../blockquote>

• paragraph: p>.../p>

• spoiler: spoiler>.../spoiler>

• Note: tags must be properly nested, example:
OK test
Not OK test

I just took off the < signs in the beginning and < signs at the end before the backslash (/) so everyone can see what is suppose to be written. And for the book/ author links i took of the first Bracket [

Know here it is how its suppose to look like.

How do you post pictures into your status??? For reading update or general status?
I've been on goodreads 2 years and still haven't figured it out. :/
Is there like, a way to get to your status posting page instead of just the sidebar?

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but at the top where the My books, Groups and Recommendations buttons are, if you click on your profile picture it brings you to your status page. Not sure if that helped? :/

Under each comment there is a reply button. Click on it and it will appear in your comment box below, then type in your response and post it.

Yeah it doesn't show up on my tablet either, hopefully the app get some improvements.

that depends on the group. some groups allow their members to make new topics and some don't

sure! you can make any threads or topics that you'd like! No need to ask permission, feel free to make threads :D

hey, I've been trying to post general updates, but they never actually post. I type it out and hit general update...and nothing...am I doing something wrong???
