As atheist fiction I'd like to nominate Attack Of The Unsinkable Rubber Ducks.Christopher Brookmyre's crime novels are satirical, political and barbed. This one has its sights attached to a high calibre rifle and firmly aimed at religion and magical thinking.
The Newer, More English Version an atheist rewrite of the Pentateuch. Daniel C Dennett said it is "a marvel, full of funny, arresting moments. It brings out the weirdness of the Old Testament vividly".
I am about to start reading American Gods (though I do note this was a group read book a couple of years ago)
