Our Next Series Read

Is there a series you would like to read or re-read with other members of "Romance Lovers for the Challenge-Impaired" group?

Tell us your suggestions(no more than 3 or 4 series), certainly something you would read yourself. There will NOT be a poll for the general public, only those of you responding in this thread. One or two series will be chosen for our next series read. We will be reading one book from that series each month starting in September.

It may be from any genre, with three or more published books.

Note:
This thread will be closed for suggestion on 10th of August and a poll invitation will be sent to all the people who posted a comment in this thread. So even if you don't want to suggest a series , post a comment to show you want to participate in the voting.

Phoenix (Online Elf) | 4358 comments Just a few things to remember when voting:

1- We will be reading these series as series reads , 1 book from the series each month. If the series has 15 books , we will read 1 book per month for the next 15 months.

2-Vote for books that you want to read or reread ,NOT something you've read and think everyone else should read too!

3- Start numbering from 24 and go down to 1 if you like or just vote for as many as you like.(The one you most want to read is 24) The numbers will be added the 2 top series will be our series reads.

4- Everyone is welcome to vote !

5- Have fun and enjoy !

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) 1. Dirk and Steele by Marjorie M. Liu (Yeah, I mentioned this last go around, but I still need motivation to actually start it! Group reading Black Knights was a powerful motivator for me to actually get that series read for me!)

Dirk & Steele Series

2. Kathleen Turner by Tiffany Snow (Am willing to re-read first book, just to read it with other folks.)

Kathleen Turner Series

3. She Can Series by Melinda Leigh (Another one I am willing to re-read the first book on!)

She Can Series

4. The Entire Night Huntress series by way of the author's reading order (Might have to do this one on my own, but figured I'd throw it out there!)

Jeaniene Frost's Reading Order of all novels, novellas, and short stories in the Night Huntress universe (scroll to bottom of page)

I've read The first 3 books in Rock Chick series . I don't recommend it to anyone! I'm not big fan of KA but I've read some of her books and enjoyed half of them (some 4 or 5 stars) but her Rock chick series is just horrible IMO!

Lux series by Jennifer Armentrout. It's YA but heard it was good. https://www.goodreads.com/series/6625...

We could do vote on another of her series. Just not her MC one, please!

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) I've read the first 2 of the Rock Chicks, all of the Dream Mans, and the first 2 and a half of the Chaos series, and I've not enjoyed them much. I think I'll sit out if KA gets voted in.

1. Maiden Lane by Elizabeth Hoyt
2. Seal Team 12 by Marliss Melton
3. The Bodyguards of L. A. County by Cate Beauman

Phoenix (Online Elf) | 4358 comments Lara, I'm sorry to say this but could you narrow it to 3 or 4 series? The voting is going to be really complicated with this many series. Thanks .

Lara | 2335 comments Sure thing! And since others aren't enamored with Kristen Ashley, I'll leave her out. I haven't read any of her books yet, but hear you either LOVE her or hate her.

Me too even though SB isn't on audio. I did read book 1 a couple of years ago. But I'd like to read that series again. My library has the entire Virgin River on audio, just like Thunder Point

message 28: by Lara (new)

Lara | 2335 comments This will be a difficult vote. I've read 2 of the series on the list, and a few individual books of other series, but mostly have multiple series I'd love to read.

message 29: by ShoSho , Moderator (new)

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments I think we are going to have you sort the series from the one you want to read the most to the one you want to read the least. That's the only way we can get a fair result.
When it's time I'll go first :)

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) There are four series already nominated that I'd like to read so I'll just make this post so I can get in on the voting. If you need me to officially "second" any, let me know. :D

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) I'd add

Kate Daniels - by Ilona Andrews(although I'm probably one of the few people who haven't read this series)

Vampires in America by D.B. Reynolds

Titan by Cristin Harber

Yes. I got half way through Virgin River and I can't remember if something was mentioned that made me realise there was another series. Its only a trilogy so its quick to read.

Sue | 205 comments I tried to scratch off duplicates, so I apologize if I missed one. All series included are available in audio. Only a few I have read entirely, but all I've read at least a few so I know I'd enjoy continuing them. Not posted in any particular order. (Sorry got very frustrated adding series links, so I didn't).

Thank you Trea (Updated) - I edited my list down to 4 from my original 10. I totally understand if some folks won't participate if a title chosen (Any from the entire voting pool) isn't of interest. I reserve the same right, I think we all do :). In reference to KA.

In Death (40+) – J.D. Robb - Futuristic cop drama, lots of character development, danger and romance
A Brit in the FBI (3) – Catherine Coulter - James Bond but not so unrealistic, flirty*
Immortal Guardians (7) – Dianne Duvall - Vamps of a type, protection, romance*
Tradd Street – Karen White (4) - Southern, ghosts, mystery, humor and romance

*Have new releases in Aug/Sept

I see a lot of winners being posted here, many, many I have read but some I was just looking for an excuse to start.

Sue, back in message 14 Mod River(Online Elf) asked that Lara pick only 3-4 series out of the long list of 10 that she had posted. I think she would likely ask you to do the same. I figured I'd mention it so you could work on getting your suggestion list narrowed down!

We also had a discussion earlier on in the thread where a couple of members have said that they aren't going to participate if Kristen Ashley gets voted in, so that might be something to keep in mind as you narrow down your list.

All that being said, I see a few series I'd be willing to vote for out of your list, so I am looking forward to seeing what you eventually come up with!
