Paul Its come close before so I'd like to nominate Walter Mackens Seek the Fair Land.
Its on of my favourite books from when I was a teen and still one of the best representations of the Cronwell wars in Ireland.

Marcia | 437 comments The Secret Scripture by Sebastian Barry. This book sounds interesting but then so do the two that have already being nominated.

Tenderwire by Claire Kilroy. I know that a few people in the group including myself really enjoyed another title by the same author.

Barbara (bdegar) | 4626 comments I'd like to nominate All That Is Solid Melts into Air by Darragh McKeon. An Irish author writing about Chernobyl. Allan and I rated it 5 stars. Sara gave it 4. John Boyne often comments that as a writer from Ireland, he is often (always) asked why he writes about places outside Ireland. His response is that it seems writers from small countries are expected to write about their country. Writers from super power countries are "allowed" to write about anywhere with no questions.

Cathleen | 2409 comments I'd like to nominate The Closet of Savage Mementos. I'm reading it now, and I think it could generate some good discussion.
