Nancy Oakes (quinnsmom) I "know" a lot of people here already, so hi! I just wanted to say that reading about polar exploration (and exploration in general) is one of my favorite pastimes, so I'm happy to join the group. I have been amassing quite a collection of books in this area over the years.

Janie Hi, Nancy! I know some people here, too, and hello to everyone! I must admit that I am weak in the history department, but I love learning about cold and remote places that are generally inaccessible. I'm looking forward to seeing where we go.

I can only guess what they would say. I think we simply have a passion for the unknown.

Kirstin | 21 comments Hi everyone! I see a few familiar faces here. Thanks for the invite!

I think these stories of survival in extreme environments will be pretty horrific. :)
