TIME TRAVEL MOVIE CLUB (COMING IN MARCH)
We are pleased to announce that we will begin a Time Travel Movie Club in March. These movies need not have a book tie-in. Be thinking now about movies you’d like to nominate for us to watch. Ideal nominations would be available to stream online for free. We’d probably have the most participation if it were available as a Netflix instant watch option. TIME TRAVEL BOOK CLUB
Second Sight by David Williams is the book that we’ll be reading together beginning February 15th. This was chosen because it’s a time travel book with a movie tie-in. The movie is called “The Two Worlds of Jenny Logan”. Our male hosts have kindly deferred the hosting of the book club to me this month since it’s a time travel romance and I’m the token female host. Luckily, for them, I’m in a rare romance-reading mood and didn’t object. I suppose having a romance for February is an accidental ♥’s Day bonus. The Kindle edition is listed at $10.37 and the paperback is listed for a couple of dollars more. If these prices seem cost-prohibitive and you wouldn’t be able to read it at that price, one of our members has offered to purchase the book for a limited number of group members that wouldn’t otherwise be able to join in the discussion. NEW TIME TRAVEL BOOKS BY GROUP MEMBERS
Beautiful Wreck by Larissa Brown was released this month. I’ve mentioned it before, but I think it deserves another mention. If you do like time travel romances (and even if you don’t), this one set in Viking Iceland will instantly be among your favorites. I’d go as far as to say this is my current favorite time travel novel (technically “time slip” novel). If you were a fan of the Outlander series … this is far better.
