Lauren So this may seem like a controversial topic, but what do you think of swearing in books? Do you think it's okay? I personally think it's alright as long as it isn't excessive. I don't enjoy bad language, but I just don't really care if I read it.

Karin Michael (chasing-pages) | 17 comments I agree with you. I think Authors are trying to convey how teenagers talk, since in real life profane language is used often.

Lauren Exactly. I am not a fan of the F-bomb, but I try to look past the language and read into the moral of the story.

moya saoirse (moyasaoirse) I'm pretty numb to the usual curses, I normally don't think twice about it when I read them but say I came over an EXTREMELY vulgar word, I would pay attention to it. However, that being said, I have no religion or any faith and cursing wasn't encouraged by my family nor was it a huge deal if I ever did curse.

Lauren Yeah, I'm a Christian and I'm fine if someone swears around me because it's not my place to tell people not to use a word. Even if I don't use it, it doesn't mean the other people can't.
