The Book Was Better discussion

Okay, so I have to admit I have not read the books YET! I watched the movie after it came out without fully knowing it was a book, and at that time I was not as in to YA as I am now...so....yeah! But, it will be bought in the VERY near future, so I figured I would start this group to get me moving even faster on getting it! :)

I haven't read the book either! Actually saw it at the book store the other day, but I'm trying not to buy anymore books until summer (*fingers crossed it lasts*). The movie was alright though. I mean, one cannot go wrong with Alex Pettyfer..

Since the books is usually better than the movie I imagine it will be even better, and I have to say the movie was rather good. I saw it once right when it came out, so I don't remember a tun about it. I for sure need to read the whole series and re-watch the movie. Alex for sure helps it out some too though! haha

I love the movie but loved the book even more I can't wait to finial all of them

I tried to look up if they would be making more of the books but nothing is on IMDB, so I don't trust the rumors that people might be chatting about.... I enjoyed the first one well enough without even reading the books yet, so hopefully they will continue but I can read them all before then! :)

Good news...I found the whole series on Kindle library books!! woohoo!! Sadly, I am like 4th in line to borrow the first one...so it might still be a little while until I actually get to even start the series. But, I am excited all the same! :D

I haven't read the book. I loved the movie though.

I don't remember if I really knew they were books when the movie came out or not... But, they were good movies, so I am for sure excited to read the book. Might be a little while until I get to it now...but I think it should be worth the wait!

The movie sucked compared to the books. I mean they just didn't do it right.

Am I the only one who yells at four to be with six? Cause to me Sarah is just like: "oh save me John I love you!" She just seemed really helpless to me. I mean Sam does just fine with them and he's human too!

Also I will personally murder five.

I wasn't that taken with the trailler of the movie so didn't see it. maybe thats a good thing and I should just read the books. hmmm i'll add to my list and might get ot them this yr :)

I agree completely! I mean I didn't hate the movie... but I definitely didn't love it either. If I hadn't of read the books though I probably would've thought a lot more highly of it.
Yes Sarah was so weak and feeble in the movie, it just killed me a little. Guuuuurl get your shit together!

Yes, yes you may. I started ranting about it after I read the book and all you'd hear was "Off with his head!" After every sentence with Five in it.

And I think Sarah is almost worse in the books with her feebleness. So I want John to go with six both for his better good and because it would be better for their planet, but I still like the six and Sam couple.

My god does he deserve it though wow what a piece of shit. Now I'm mad again just thinking about it!

That's also true she definitely is not 'the one' for him I don't think. However she did get a little better towards the end of the last one. I did pray they would get together but Sam and six is just so adorable that it can't. John can't do that to his best friend nope!

I've read the book and the first book is honestly not that good. :( But the series, overall, is really good!

The first book is really cliche and slow compared to the rest in the series. I encourage you to try the second book (it is honestly sooo much better).

Has anyone both read the book and seen the movie? I don't know anyone who has done both and I'm really curious about how the book to movie things worked out and if they screwed it up.

I have still only seen the movie since it came out and I saw it without really knowing it was a book. So, now I am waiting to read the books! I want to soon, but summer keeps me pretty busy so I don't have as much time to read. Hopefully soon when it turns gray and cold here in Washington State! ;)

I'm on the second to last book, and the more I get into the book the more I am mad that they didn't make the books into a good movie. There is so much more action and drama and character and just everything in the series, and sadly they made such a crappy movie that most people are missing out and will never read the books! ...I feel like that is a statement I say about a lot of books....haha

I actually haven't seen the movie again since I read the books, and feel like if I did I was just get mad. It would be a Percy Jackson situation all over again no doubt! haha
