Steph I chose this trilogy as I have heard good things and I haven't read any books about witches/vampires/magical settings in quite a while. Hopefully the trilogy will live up to the hype!

I have this on my A-Z challenge list. It seems like an interesting story and I also have heard good things about it.

I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it :)

Maple (maplerie) | 307 comments I have this for my "started but never finished" week. I picked it up once a year or so ago, got through chapter 1, maybe 2, and got distracted by work and forgot about it. I'm excited to get back to it, and hope you enjoy it. I can't wait to see your review.

Shelly I am re-reading A Discovery of Witches for the first book in my Trilogy Weeks 32-34. I read first read this book when it came out in 2011. I loved it, but was very frustrated because I had wait 18 months to read the second one in the series! And then 2 years for the third book! I am looking forward to reading them back-to-back.

EllenZReads I've read this trilogy and really enjoyed it. I hope Deborah Harkness writes something else soon--there were long gaps between the three books, as Shelly said, which was a bit frustrating!

Biana I have read the trilogy and the first book was fantastic! After a while, it got a little cheesy...but that's just me.

Happy Reading!

Steph Finished the first book, I enjoyed it. I wouldn't say that I loved it but I haven't read a book like this since the early 1990's when I read Anne Rice's vampire series. It is fun to leave the real world every now and then and just immerse yourself in a fantasy world. I did enjoy the historical tidbits as well as the science that were dispersed throughout the novel. Now I am on to book two in the trilogy. Happy reading!
