I just read Mesmerized. That book would be an interesting one to carry with me as a sub - have the kids speculate on how they could prove the Dr. Mesmer right or wrong.

I just finished Mesmerized and I love it. My 5th graders do a writing unit on the American Revolution. My mind is already working over ways to use this book in the library to help support that unit. Do you think the Newbery Committee will consider it or will they dismiss it as a NF picture book.
