I read this shortly after it first came out. Really interesting ideas and perspective. I like traditional epic fantasy, but I also really enjoy when conventional tropes are thrown out the window, or at least turned on their side. This book definitely approaches epic fantasy from a different perspective. I'll be really interested in what people think of it.

Just bought this one, looking forward to getting into it shortly! :-)

The Mirror Empire by Kameron Hurley
:) Looks interesting. Haven't heard of this author. Won't be reading at this time, but I'll keep and eye on this thread. Maybe I'll change my mind.

I read this last year and while I really enjoyed the worldbuilding I had a hard time connecting with any of the characters.

I am here.
First impression : Ms. Hurley doesn't "coddle" her readers.

I decided to pick this one as my first monthly read with the "Fantasy book club". I'm so excited :)

I'm enjoying this very much! Interesting concept and world. Zezili is quite a domineering character!

I'm not as far as you, I've never heard of Zezili. So far I'm confused in the midst of plants, magic and enemies!

I'm really enjoying this! A bit hard to follow the interwoven story lines at first, but now that I'm really into the meat of the book, I think it's fantastic!

A hard read for the first 60 or so pages but I'm really into it now! Very complex and great world building!
