Alison Downs | 18 comments I used to own this choose your own adventure book, but no matter how much I search I simply CANNOT find this particular one. I've even emailed some of the authors asking if it rings a bell!

Hard to describe the plot, as there are so many possible elements. You could be killed by Frankenstein's (well meaning) monster, or Dr. Alucard (Dracula) could hypnotize you. I remember the cover had Dracula on it.

Aerulan | 1316 comments How long ago did you read this? Some sort of timeframe is really helpful information because that'll rule out anything published after you had the book.

Aerulan | 1316 comments Vampire Express has Dracula on the cover, don't know if the storylines fit though

Alison, I moved your request to the "Unsolved" folder because you're looking for a specific book.

Alison Downs | 18 comments sorry, I read it in 1993 but by that point the book was all yellowed and falling apart, so I believe it's much older than that.

It is not vampire express.

Alison Downs | 18 comments Thanks, I've actually been through all the titles on that site and none of them are it. I wonder if it's a rare title? Or if there was a secondary and competing choose your own adventure series?

Kimber (kimberlibri) | 158 comments There are a few more of the CYoA books about vampires and what you're talking about - with the monsters- seems familiar. I look at images of these books and I recognize which ones i've read by the covers but it is hard to determine by title alone. It might take awhile but here is a pretty comprehensive list of ALL the CYoA books - both original, junior and other -

Good luck!

Alison Downs | 18 comments Definitely not by Edward Packard, I know that much - I actually emailed him asking if it was one of his, ha!

Just went through each title on both sites (and all your suggestions too, Kris) and none are a match.

This is so frustrating. I'm almost positive it was an original choose-your-own adventure because I can see the book cover in my mind. It was white/cream colored at the top with that red strip with the # on it. Then the image itself had "Dr. Alucard" standing there, with his arms sort of extended toward the reader. (I think there were other elements on the cover too, but those are what I remember.)

I just know it was a creepy old house/mansion/castle, that Dr. Alucard was the head of the household so to speak, and that depending on your page choices, you could also run into Frankenstein's monster or a mummy.

Thanks for all your ideas so far, everyone!

Adele | 1421 comments Is this it (the description is in Spanish for some reason, but this is the English version)? Midnight at Monster Mansion (Twistaplot, #13) by Steven Otfinoski

Isabelle Ley | 44 comments A different kind of narrative structure that proposes to the reader part of the main character in history. As the plot develops, he has to decide the way to follow, avoiding some manners and challenging our luck.
That is what it says according to Google translate.
