Why did you choose Real Christian as a group name?

Oh wow. That is such a brilliant question!!
Well when I had the idea to make the group I actually prayed about it. (Which that may sound funny to some but if you know me you know I pray about everything(; )
Haha. So I kept thinking and praying and wanted something that would let people know this wasn't just something we did just because this was REAL just as Jesus Christ is Real. And also if someone needed help then when someone looks up a group name usually they may think real because so many things are not real anymore. And so I chose this name because I felt this could be a group where someone could know we were serious and could provide help. Thanks for the question Ashis (:

Hi Mary Kate, Not sure where I should post this enquiry but hope that it's okay to put it here to start with. It's simply that I've written a small 'bit-sized' Bible study-type book on the Old Testament character, Samuel, that is currently listed on the Goodreads 'giveaway' page and folks might be interested in knowing about it. It's entitled 'Focusing beyond the horizon'. Is it appropriate to mention it and is there a specific area on this Group's site where this should be done?

The book is aiming to apply the lessons of this man to ourselves, making God more relevant in our lives. Am hoping (and praying!!) that it will be helpful to readers. Having it featured on Goodreads means that non-Christians could well be selected from among those entering the 'giveaway' - this could be interesting!!!

Do I need to ask before starting any topic on here? Because I wanted to start a thread about praying for people, instead of gossiping about them. God put that into my heart recently, it seems easier to go ahead and gossip about people we don't get along with, but we often forget that God shows grace to them too.

It's fine with me if you start a topic without asking us first, I don't know what MK thinks though. I'd say as long as it fits the group guidelines and is appropriate than you don't neeed to ask us, but if it's questionable with the group guidelines than you should ask us if it's okay first. We don't want to have to delete a topic if we can help it.
